Produced by SocialDocumentary.net, this show features the
work of four photographers who are the winners of a call for entries on
the global recession. The exhibit
was first exhibited at powerHouse Arena in Brooklyn, NY, February
16-March 14. First place winner is Tomasz Tomaszewski from
Poland for his exhibit "Hades?", an exploration of workers in Upper
Silesia, Poland who are loosing their jobs and ways of life as a result

Hello, Minnesota
from PRC Blog, by George Slade Program Manager/Curator I brought a few books with me on my last trip back from Minnesota.
Having discovered early in my time here that for some inexplicable
reason the PRC's otherwise impressively thorough Siskind Library was
missing some books I've contributed to, and having realized that I had
extra copies sitting around my house in St. Paul, I felt compelled to
contribute a few pieces of my publishing history to the collection here.

Yael Ben-Zion

The last portfolio review I had during my June sessions on Wednesday the 23rd was with Yael Ben-Zion. Yael came up from New York City to show me her work about Israel. Although she was born in Minneapolis (will I always find Minnesota connections?) in 1973, she left my home turf after three months and grew up in Israel with dual citizenship.
She returned to the United States to attend Yale Law School, and earned degrees in 2001 (LL.M.) and 2004 (J.S.D.). While in New Haven, she met photographer and assistant professor of photography David Hilliard,
