During a 1979 trip to Egypt Izu became deeply moved by the sacred sites that motivated him to begin his series of sacred places around the world. His images are platinum contact prints shot with his custom-made 14x20 camera. Izu has received numerous awards including the prestigious National Endowment of the Arts Award in 1984 and a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2002. He has published nine monographs including Light Over Ancient Angkor, Sacred Places, Kenro Izu: Blue, Bhutan,and his most recent monograph Kenro Izu: A 30 Year Retrospectivewill be available for sale at the lecture for signing.

The Griffin Museum of Photography and the PRC have teamed up once again to present a weekend of portfolio reviews with some of New England's top museum professionals, gallery owners and directors, art buyers, critics and educators.

This year's event will take place on Friday and Saturday, May 7th & 8th from 9am - Noon on the campus of Northeastern University.

The PRC will be offering our members an opportunity to have their work reviewed by a guest reviewer each month.

The 8th Annual Independent Film Festival Boston

The 8th Annual Independent Film Festival Boston is taking place April 21-28 at the Somerville Theatre, Brattle Theatre, Coolidge Corner Theatre, and the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston.
