Bunches and clusters of a variety of FYIs

Fitzpatrick Wines are on the move and may be available closer to home than you think. You'll find us at 4 Farmers Markets year round (except in early January when we vacation). I'm at the Davis FM every other Saturday (9/19, 10/2, etc.), also on Saturdays at the Sunrise FM, on Sundays I'm at Sacramento largest FM under the freeway at 6th and X Streets. Our daugther Molly and partner Brian represent our wines each Sunday at the Beverly Hills FM (that's right movie stars, celebrities and just plain great people shop at the Beverly Hills FM).
In addition to all that we're moving our top-selling wines into select SaveMart stores like Truckee, Tahoe City, Orangevale with Placerville, Roseville, Auburn, Grass Valley, Folsom and Sacramento to follow soon.
When in Placerville our good friend's at Noah's Ark have a great selection of Fitzpatrick wines. And we welcome Orangevale Liquors and the Confluence Kitchen (Auburn) to that growing list too.

Wine Fellowship Update
Welcome new and returning members and to all others please join us whenever you're ready. Two new wines are ready to pick-up: the 2007 Eire Ban (which most of you have picked up) and the Z4 cuvee. We don't have shippers for these two different bottles so please stop by either the tasting room or one of the farmers markets to pick up. If you'll be stopping at a farmers market, call us first just so we can make sure that wine will be there for you.
We've bottled the 2008 Chardonnay and the new Tippitonia but labels will not be printed until late October.
remeber Wine Fellowship members get either 25% off or 10% extra in addition to other discounts (with exception). So take advantage of 43% discount on our fabulous 2006 Zinfandel through Septemebr 30th.

These are Crushing Times
Dawn on September 7th we started harvesting Chardonnay (last year 2008 we started 8/26) along with our small blocks of Semillon and Pinot Noir. The next day we started in on our castle block of Sauvignon Blanc, the upper block of Merlot and our new block of Tempranillo. Everything is fermenting well as our 30th Crush revs up.
Tomorrow we pick Hank's block of Sauvignon Blanc, our Roadside Zin and the Mother block of Syrah (one of four blocks).
Will the rain hurt us? If we get a good breeze today and tomorrow and it warms up like they say, I don't expect much damage. Airflow to dry out the inner bunches is what's critical especially on those big Zin clusters.
We'll be harvesting throughout September and well into mid-October this year.

Friday Wood-Fired Oven Pizza
We're on the the final run of our famous Friday Pizza Nights so don't procrastinate to make your annual journey here to enjoy one before Mother Natures puts us into hibernation. Friday Pizza Nights will continue through October 15th weather permitting. And we have our wonderful line-up of musical talent scheduled as follows: 9/18 Tessa Evans, 9/25 Anderson & Gram, 10/8 Johnny Mojo and friends and I've made a special booking for 10/1 with local musicians Gary Martin and Bjiou playing a medley from Fusion Rock to Reggae.
Even though we normally book up every Monday for that week's Friday Pizza Night, as we move into this shoulder-season we tend to be able to take reservations all week for each Friday Night. So come enjoy an evening atop the world here in Fair Play. Call us at 530-620-3248 or 800245-9166 to make your reservations. |
Weekdays are Grand
Weekdays are a grand time to come visit our tasting room or better yet to stay the night or nights with us at the Lodge. This time of the year the weather just keeps getting better and better and regardless it's a perfect time to explore Fair Play and beyond or just get some much needed quiet time and R&R. Occasionally all rooms are booked on weekdays, like tonight, but most of the time we'll have a room or two available even at the last minute. FYI - Being at 2500 foot elevation, we're a great homebase to enjoy the great outdoors of the Sierra, like catching the Aspens in Fall color between Silver and Caples Lake (an easy half day excursion).
