RECENT AWARDS

 |
I'm not much for entering wine competitions anymore - there expensive and the results are no better the additional money you throw at them in advertising to toot your own horn. However I have always supported our local competitions at the El Dorado and Amador County Fairs and entered our 2006 reds and the new 2007 Sauvignon Blanc. At El Dorado the and t2006 Zinfandel got Silver,he 2006 Merlot, 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, King's Red XIII and 2006 Cabernet Franc took Bronzes. And at Amador Silver was bestowed on our new 2007 Sauvignon Blanc, 2006 Zinfandel, 2006 Syrah, 2006 Cabernet Franc, 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and Bronze for our 2006 Grenache. Ladies and gentlemen the bottomline is every wine we entered won an award. So let's celebrate and drink up.

Greetings!
Let's celebrate our hard-fought Freedom (freedom that has been preserved and defended by countless men and women over 200+ years) by using our freedom to choose. Choose not only our President and other elected officials but choose the way we live and paint a picture of the world we want to live in. That may seem overwhelming and mind-boggling but you can change the world day by day simply by the decisions you make in what you eat, drink and buy ( and of course how you act and what you support, etc.). No one of us can do everything but with the simple support of your buying habits you can support those products that do have a vision for a beautiful healthy world for you and our children and grandchildren too.
For 30 years, Fitzpatrick Wines have been committed to making a most civilized beverage in a most responsible way. Enjoy Fitzpatrick wines and know that you have made a great start toward a healthy sustainable world. Use that Freedom to choose.

The Fourth is Yours!
For July, instead of our Buy the Box selections, we're going to give you the freedom to choose what you want.
Buy four wines in celebration of the fourth (Independence Day) and get a fourth OFF! Now I could use another four letter word FREE but the ABC forbids its use when selling alcohol. But you get it, buy four wines of your choice and get 25% OFF. Buy four more and get 25% OFF. Do that as often as you like - build a case or two and get 25% OFF.
And Wine Fellowship Members remember you get an extra 10% OFF too. Might be a good time to join or rejoin for those instant savings.
Just to be rhythmic I was going to end this deal on the Fourteenth but since that corresponds with Bastille Day when the people decided to off some of their nobles' heads, I've decided to honor your Freedom to choose through July 31st.

2007 Sauvignon Blanc release
Our long awaited release of the 2007 Sauvignon Blanc is here. Long because of the great 2006 vintage with its generous rainfall that fueled the biggest harvest for us ever. But we've basically drunk all the 2006 Sauvignon Blanc up (just a few cases left for you if you act quickly) thanks to your help.
The 2007 Sauvignon Blanc is beautiful as was confirmed with its Silver Award that it just received from the 2009 Amador County Fair. The judges liked it, I like it, even Diana likes it but don't take our word for it - try it yourself. But don't procrastinate we only bottled a little over a hundred cases unlike the 400 cases of 2006.
A great way to enjoy your first bottle of the new 2007 Eire Ban is paired with an order of Crab Cakes, Irish Cobb Salad, Turkey Sandwich, Katie's Hummus and Chips or our Ploughman's Lunch from our new Winetasters' Menu served every Saturday & Sunday.
At home think of creamy pastas, scallops, sauteed veggies, quiche, etc. Ask for our Scallops Eire Ban recipe card.

We're headed to the land of swimming pools and movie stars for our newest Farmers' Market - Beverly Hills that is, with our red gold / Irish tea.
Let me tell you 'bout a story (you remember the song)...Yup, by month's end we'll be the Beverly Hills Farmers Market newest addition and only winery. Our daughter Molly and her partner Brian will host our wines at the Beverly Hills Market every Sunday morning year round.
Other farmers market news - for the summer I'll be at the Davis Farmers Market every other Saturday - July 4th, 18th, August 1st, August 15th, August 29th, etc.
Big bearded Michael Kersten hosts the Sunrise Farmers Market every Saturday morning with me joining him as often as every other week.
Remember you can call ahead 800-245-9166 to make sure we have what you want waiting for you at any of our farmers markets. We'd appreciate it because knowing how much of each wine to bring is a crap shoot.
The new San Francisco Island Earth Farmers Market is happening but without the sale of Fitzpatrick wines at the moment due to a little snafu with the ABC. The ABC decided that a Farmers Market license wasn't made for a 7 day a week year round market so the market manager has applied for a beer, wine and spirit license. When the ABC says go Fitzpatrick wines will be available in San Francisco. |
Our Tasting Room is open everyday except Tuesday 11am - 5pm. Please note however that we will be closed Monday July 6th for a family outing to celebrate Katie's birthday.
Sincerely,
Brian Fitzpatrick
