everyone is invited to join in
Here's an idea from yesteryear for Sunday afternoons.
Let's make
music together, drink a little, make more music and so
on. Many folks play guitars, banjos, mandolins, flutes,
percussion instruments, fiddles, bass fiddles, etc. and
love to play their instruments. Music made together
can be magical and lots of fun.
I invite all musicians to come join us as often as you can Sunday afternoons out on the deck (or inside the Great Room when weather demands). Share your music with others and make a wonderful afternoon of it all. Bluegrass, country, rock n' roll, blues, Irish, folk or whatever - let's jam. To show our appreciation for music and those that make it, Fitzpatrick Winery will give every musician who comes and plays a bottle of wine per hour (to take home with you) and the opportunity to buy what additional wine you want at 50% off. We hope to meet new musicians and old and make new friends. And some may want to book a Sunday as your audition to play at other venues in the future. We can make Sunday into whatever works. Let's give it a go. Pass the word around, "Calling all musicians" Sunday afternoons at Fitzpatrick's. |

| thoughts from the winemaker |
ideas to try
The perennial question: To charge or not for wine
tasting? One could make convincing agruments either
way. But should we forever minimize the tasting
experience ?or bring the tasting experience to new
levels, levels of enjoyment that also enhance your
experience by pairing food and wine? After all
much of
the wine we drink is in the company of the food we
eat.
How 'bout a private tasting with the winemaker that we sit down and taste our wines paired with the multiple courses of a specially designed lunch? Figure the cost may be $30 - 60 per head and reservations would be a must. But what a great tasting experience and event to remember. Or something more casual and less expensive, like a Taster's Plate can still greatly impact the tasting experience. Our new Taster's Plate would include some bits of cheese, crackers, grapes and our savory hummus which would not only act as palate cleansers between wines; but, put into context how each wine may taste with various foods. The Taster's Plate will be offered as an option for $5 and be redeemable with a purchase of $100 or more. Something simpler to enjoy with your wine tasting would be a sampler of Katie's savory hummus and chips for $3 redeemable with a $50 or more purchase. These are my ideas (the winemaker) to enhance your tasting experience while not crossing that sacred line of charging for wine tasting. The choice is yours, for now. |

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon & 2007 Sangre de Montana
Our selections for this month are two of our most
romantic wines which will be perfect for those cozy
evenings around the fire and romantic dinners for the
two of you. Both these wines are perfect humble
companions, not looking for undue attention, just here
to compliment the moment.
The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is well balanced, a combo of fruit and earth, mellowed with oak and modest in alcohol. And at 40% buy the box (case of 12) the per bottle price is only $9.60. A hand-made estate grown certified organic Cab for under $10 - try to find a deal like that. Catch the essence, the beauty of four Italian grapes in this Euro-style dry rose - Sangre de Montana (the blood of the mountain). Raspberries, strawberries, cherries dance on your tongue as the soft delicate liquid pampers your palate. Very sensuous, very romantic wine and an excellent versatile foil to food too. Although technically dry, its delicate softness and bright fruit will have you fooled. And you'll get no complaints from that big tough man in your life as you cuddle and sip the Sangre de Montana. Buy the box (case of 12) and the unbelievable per bottle price is only $6. Stock up! |

Everyone can live like a King!
The act of handing over dollars for wine or whatever
you want is today's way of trading with each other.
However even in today's economy there's still lots of
room for good old fashion trading - I'll give you this for
that. So let's talk.
Obviously trading only makes sense if you need what I have and vice versa. But when that mutual need arises, what a beautiful thing. And in today's economy, its time to barter. I'm open to reviewing proposals to barter and would put no limits if I truly needed what you have to offer. So, let's talk. I've got a big project coming up where I'll need various skills of labor, and lots of materials. And little trades are just as fun too. |
