|
| |
Greetings!
Just released in time for the holidays is our 'Where it
all Began' T-shirt commemorating 27 years of
winemaking in Fair Play. Our very first Fitzpatrick wine
label 1980 flanked on each side with a label from the
1990s' and 2000s' spanning the three decades of Fair
Play's first and oldest winery is expertly reproduced
on high quality pre-shrunk 100% cotton in many
different colors. Available in both men's and women's
styles (with a limited supply of long-sleeved Ts), this
collector T is well stocked in sizes small to 3X. We're
so excited we hope you'll share all your great
memories with friends as they strike up a
conversation looking at your new "Where it all began"
T.
The holiday season is here and we hope you'll spread
the good cheer and share lots of Fitzpatrick wines
with your family and friends. And we're going to show
our thanks and generosity by rolling out one great
wine value after another. Read on...

2006 A Banner Harvest like no other! |

Fantastic Quality in Unbelievable Quantity
After a short-sleeve ending to February, March
roared all month with rain. Although the spring
remained cool, the vineyards escaped with no frost
damage. With plenty of winter and spring water we
were headed for a BIG year. However the perenial
challenge of combating powdery mildew worsens each
day the temperatures are below 85 degrees and
when the intermitten rains wash off the spray
material. But I learned something new this year.
When
the temperature exceeds 105, powdery mildew is
dead. So the miserable heat wave in July which
reached
113 actually sanitized our vineyards and come
harvest
we picked the cleanest most beautiful fruit ever.
With the March rains and cool April weather holding
back the starting point of budbreak, the harvest
season started late too. We carefully allocated our
limited supply of water back and forth between
vineyard blocks to keep the vines healthy throughout
the late harvest season and pulled off the biggest
and best crop yet. From 104 bins in 2005, we
harvested 192 bins in 2006 enough to make more
than 4,000 cases. The reds of course will take their
sweet time maturing but keep your eyes out for what
promises to be our best ever Chardonnay, Sauvignon
Blanc and Sierra Dreams in early spring 2007.

Bite your tongue before you bad-mouth Merlot! |

Our 2003 Merlot will have you singing allehluias and Glory-be's
Too often folks pass sampling Merlot at the tasting
room, proclaiming their discontent with the varietal
in general. Please remember Merlot is and will always
be one of the noble grapes of the wine world. Just
because some big wineries have basterdized the
name into a generic mass-marketed non-descript
wine with the name tag Merlot, doesn't mean you
can't and shouldn't be on the lookout and rediscover
how great Merlot can be. And I'll challenge you to
taste ours and correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm Big on Merlot myself and want you to reembrace
the sturdiness and beauty our Merlots can deliver.
Eventhough I have 2002 Merlot to sell, I can't wait
any longer to show off my 2003. This is a stellar
vintage Merlot and I'm going to make you an offer
you shouldn't refuse.
Buy a case of 2003 Merlot at the modest price of
$15/bottle and I'll give you a case of our 2002 Merlot
for FREE. That translates to $7.50/bottle for 24
bottles of tasty Merlot that you know will be
consumed by friends and family during the holidays.
Buy two or more cases of this deal if one's not
enough. But don't procrastinate because I'm only
selling the first 100 cases at this great price.
Read on to learn some tips on improving your wines
by decanting.
