Greetings!
People wonder why I love remodeling design. Now don't get me wrong. I like working on new construction, too. But, remodeling? It's Instant Gratification (well, almost instant)! To see the difference between the "before" and "after" and hear the oooh's and aaah's - that's what rings my chimes! Years ago, a client told me that she called her remodeled kitchen her "Oooo" room... because everytime someone (who had known her old kitchen) walked in to the new one, they said "Oooo!" And,Yes, that photo (above) is a real "before" photo of a Port Charlotte client's kitchen. The upper cabinets were hanging by a thread. Maybe because she was trying to store her rather heavy mixer in the upper cabinets!! An older home, the rest of the house is quite open and contemporary, but the kitchen was badly in need of an update and redesign. My design included removing the wall to the right of the fridge and also the pass-thru walls surrounding the sink cabinets (far right - not in the photo above). This resulted in a true island that is open to the living room. By facing the back of the island with taller glass front cabinets, she gained storage, display and a high bar. We also extended the cabinets, which are spectacular natural cherry (complete with varigated grain) to the left into the dining area. This created a low "buffet" with wallspace above to display favorite works of art. For more photos and info on this remodel and others go to my website Photo Gallery. By the way, since May is Remodeling Month, I've extended our 10% sale till the end of the month. (See coupon below) Hope you're having a wonderful month, Carole Ponzio, CAPS, CGA |
