GLSEN Workshop and School Climate Discussion 4:00
In support of our fabulous GSAs, a look at what GLESN has to offer. Plus, for our current event discussion this week: Safe Space Kits. Is YOUR school safe? How does it compare to other schools? Read the more about the new GLSEN report here. While we are are on the topic - have you seen the news reports about the effects of the phrase "That's so gay!" If you haven't you need to - read more.

 In the craft area: We're getting ready for the suicide awareness walk (this Saturday, 9:00 a.m., Wall and 25th). We'll be making your own buttons, t-shirts and a OUTreach banner to remember and honor your loved ones.
Teen Health and Leadership Special Event! 5:00
It's finally here: Safer Sex Olympics! Did you know: 50% of all new STIs happen to persons age 15-24? EVERYONE needs to know more about health and safety so you can be a resource for others! Don't miss it: fun Olympic events, pizza and prizes, all ages are welcome, and yes, it's free!
Field Trip! Weber State's Wildcat Theater: Antigone!
 Tickets are $9...but for you, OUTreach youth, they are free! Don't miss this ancient-modern tale...transportation provided, too. The show is at 7:30 (meet us at Wildcat Theatre if you want - this is an all ages OUTreach field trip - everyone's invited to sit with us!). At 6:30 is an "infotainment" talk before the show. We will leave OUTReach around 6:15 - tickets are first come, first served!
Westminster College presents a reimagining of Sophocles´ Antigone in an original production directed by Larry West. In an era of protests and the fall of tyrants, Antigone´s message is both timely and timeless. The play tells the tale of a young woman, a protester defying a king while defending her family. Inspired by the recent Arab Spring movement, West´s production tosses aside the typical costumes of classic Greek theatre for an edgy interpretation of Antigone´s troubled life. Her brothers killed each other, and her uncle wants her executed. And you thought your family was dysfunctional!
 All afternoon:
EVERYone needs someone to talk to, and now in addition to our beloved Dr. Ambrose we have Dr. Teri Kay, both available to offer free, confidential counseling to you (and with your family if you wish). Both Drs are licensed, highly qualified, and super cool, and really friendly and fun.
borrow books and videos from our library, create a masterpiece in our Art Center, chill out and play pool, foosball or ping pong, or use one of the computers in our Cyber Center.

Thursdays these days have a fun geek theme - bring YOUR favorite geeky hobby to share.

Bring your instrument, bring your talent - let's share, compare, cheer each other on and plan for OUTreach performances!
Special guest: Nic Maughan, maestro, pianist and musical director...oh, my!

Suicide Awareness Walk
September 22, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Register here ( free!) and please tell us you will join our team of walkers (we'll have fun swag for you!), OR just show up at the OUTreach table on 25th St. and we will be thrilled to see you!
5th Annual NUHOPE Suicide Awareness Walk
The walk will take place on and around historic 25th street in Ogden and will be ~1 mile in length. Check-in and program will be on the west end of 25th near Wall Avenue and the stage.
Schedule for September 22:
- 9:00 - 9:45 - Check-in and pick up shirts and information
- 9:00 - 9:45 - On-site registration
- 10:00 - 11:00 - Presentations, Walk and Announcement of Silent Auction Winners(must be present at announcement to win bid)
Additional Activities before/after the Walk:
- There will be a table set up before the walk for you to write in memory/in honor stickers for your shirt as well as a "Memory Wall" for messages to loved ones. In this area we will also have volunteers with information about support groups and educational classes that are offered;
- There will be a donations table where we will accept donations that will be used to support suicide prevention education activieis in the community;
- There will be a Silent Auction where you can bid on items before the walk. After the walk bid winners will be announced.
