Human Dignity Rally Report 4:00-5:00
 | | Board President Jeff Lensman and our beloved Sister Dottie |
OUTreach Board President Jeff Lensman was our OUTreach representative at the Human Dignity Rally.
Earlier this month, a Senate committee tabled an anti-discrimination proposal. Supporters of the bill packed the Senate committee hearing and many were frustrated that lawmakers ignored the bill's broad-based support, listening instead to two who spoke against the bill. Outrage over the decision sparked the Human Dignity Rally which was attended by hundreds. Jeff will tell us all about it...and what happens next!
Teen Health and Leadership Class
Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30. Week 4 of the 6 week series!
You asked for it - ravioli! Yum! Thanks Evelyn, Marilyn and Jeanne!
And back by overwhelming request:
Sewing with Lisa!
It's true...make your own BEANIE!
Lisa has had her own business for years and makes cool stuff out of, well, stuff. Blown bicycle tires and used rubber gets turned into purses and boots. Seriously.
Movie of the week: no, it's not Kevin Bacon...but it is: Footloose!

OUTreach is on the MOVE!
| | Yes, it's true - OUTreach has OUTgrown the amazing space that the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden has so generously provided for us! We have been so crowded that we have had to suspend adult programming until we are in a new larger, space.
The Board appointed site committee has finished viewing potential sites and narrowed down the extensive list to a mere few. All of the possible sites are wonderful, centrally located, lots of room for expanded programs, classes and activities, and convenient, safe access.
OUTreach is looking for benefactors, and some of these properties are excellent investment opportunities with income potential. Tax credits make it an even better deal for the right person or group to make a difference in the lives of youth and adults in Northern Utah. Interested in learning more? The site committee has ideas and would love to chat! Email or call 801-686-4528, but do it soon! We are closer every day to the big move! And even if you aren't able to be a major benefactor, please consider making a donation to OUTreach. We are a small, rapidly growing organization that needs your help to save lives and brighten futures. Every dollar makes such a difference, and you will receive a special thank you in the mail, too. What have those OUTreach youth
been up to this week?
| |
Creating a Facebook page to raise money for the Pamela Atkinson Homeless Trust Fund!
OUTreach was asked to help raise awareness for the donate option on the Utah State tax return, so part one of the effort is a Facebook page built by OUTreach youth and publicized by them.
OUTreach youth page leader Chris says: "You guys should head over and Give this page a Like and a Share to help out all of the homeless people in the state of Utah. Giving 30 seconds of your time to help others for a lifetime don't you think it is worth it?" And right he is - please share this page and donate if you are able. Tax form donations to the Fund have decreased 70%, but now is the time when a $2 donation can make a HUGE difference, if we all work together. So listen to Chris - please give the page a "like" and a "share"!
