February Focus: EDUCATION!

 There are so many ways to excel in school, and OUTreach can help! We have special tutoring available in a variety of subjects, plus our weekly Homework Help where you can bring your books and know there is someone right there for you. Dropped out? There are OPTIONS and funding for getting your diploma! Or do you want job training, resume building, interview skills? Join the new classes on Thursdays, plus watch for special workshops, starting next Wednesday. And...it's that time of year: scholarships! Check the bulletin board or send an email to medmonds@ogdenoutreach.org to receive scholarship notices and applications from local and national organizations. |

We will be open for drop-in time, to use the cyber center, library and socialize. PLUS these fun, optional activities:
Homework Help 3:00-4:00 Bring a problem, or solve a problem! Plus, more homework resources in the cyber-center and special resume and job training information. Workshops starting next week. :)
At 4:30 - meet Dr. Heather Ambrose!
Dr. Ambrose is a new OUTreach volunteer. She is not only cool and fun, she also is the chair of counseling programs at Argosy University. Dr. Ambrose is volunteering to counsel with OUTreach youth and adults, either individually or with your family. Meet Dr. Ambrose for an informal group time from 4:30-5:30.

Maureen Duffy-Boose is active in several local and national/international organizations including the Salt Lake City based Pagan Pride Project.She has been involved in the Salt Lake Pagan Community since 1986. Organizations which she has founded, co-founded or assisted in leading include the Wasatch Witch Web, Oh My Godness (GLBT genderless pagan resource) the GSLA CUUPS Chapter, and Wasatch Local Council of CoG. And...she is a professional techno harp player, with several cd's.
Maureen is the first of many LGBT persons who will join us to talk about spirituality. One of the stereotypes in society is that LGBT persons "can't be spiritual," yet living into a person's own sense of the spiritual is key to health and wholeness. Stay tuned as different faith traditions, including atheism, humanism, various forms of Christianity including Mormon Affirmation, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Deeksha and others stop by OUTreach to talk and answer questions, all LGBT and/or allies, too.

Starting February 9 - Youth on Thursdays!

Attendance has doubled and tripled lately, and we are out of room! So...until we have more space available, we are having the Thursday evening OUTreach adults take a break. We will be offering OUTreach for youth ages 14-23 on BOTH Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-7:30! It is thanks to our new volunteers that we are able to be open both nights. OUTreach adults are welcome to join ONE VOICE for coffee, to be a part of the free classes at Bright Blessings (see below!) and to join in the fun field trips that are coming up!

Would you like to be a part of developing programs to educate youth and adults, with opportunities to build your resume and gather recommendations for college applications and scholarships? Free classes for OUTreach youth and adults!

Our friends at Bright Blessings are offering FREE (yes, free!) classes in beginning hula dancing on Saturdays at 4:00.
Or is yoga more your thing?
Yoga classes are held Thursdays (6:00 and 7:30) and Sundays (10:00 and 11:30) and are FREE for the first 5 OUTreach youth and adults that reserve through the Bright Blessings facebook page. Bright Blessings is located at 107 25th Street in Ogden. Just say you are with OUTreach, and have fun!
