CFGNB is serving your community!
Greetings!

There's a quote I like by Stacia Tauscher that says "We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."

Those two things, today and tomorrow, are forever tied together. One thing leads to the other.

Recent studies show that the first five years of life are critical in putting our children on the path to success. Children who have a healthy early childhood development experience are more likely to perform at a higher academic level and become more productive members of society. And every step along that journey to adulthood, from pre-school to college, benefits from guidance and support.

Through our First Years First Initiative, the Community Foundation has made children and families a top priority.  In this e-News you'll learn more about the many helpful programs and ways we support the youngest of our citizens today...the adults of tomorrow.

Sincerely,

New Britain Early Childhood Collaborative Explains How Local Students Can Make the Grade

CF National Standards Logo
A Higher Standard for Living...
A Higher Standard for Giving

CFGNB recently received notice, once again, that it's among community foundations in compliance with the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations administered by the Community Foundations National Standards Board.

National Standards represent the highest measure of accountability and transparency in philanthropy. We are proud to have met such rigorous standards. Now more than ever, when charitable dollars are tight, people want to know that their money is being most efficiently and effectively utilized to help those who need it most.

Hopefully, you'll see more about this recognition for CFGNB in the media, but as an active supporter of your Community Foundation we want to share it with you first.

Global Investing Today and Tomorrow

What are we to make of the current financial marketplace? CFGNB donors and local professional advisors received insightful information on the topic during a Foundation seminar last month featuring Molly Auth Manning of the global investment firm, Grantham Mayo Oterloo. Some highlights and take-aways can be found in this brief recap of the seminar discussion.
