Hello Students and Massage Enthusiasts, 
I hope your all have a great end of summer, as everyone is getting back-to-school were offering a lot of new exciting classes here at the Fair Oaks Massage Institute. Please read below to find out about our Detox and Herbal Remedies class, and our Touch, Presence and Healing class!

 

We're always looking for new ideas on classes and workshops so please be sure to follow our info and keep us informed of what your looking to achieve.

New 3-Week 130 Hour Intensive Program

This program is our 6-week program condensed into an intensive 3-week schedule. This program is prefect for students who have an immediate need to get through their CMT. 

 

New Detoxification and Herbal Remedies with Debbye Prock

Wed 9/14/2011 - 9/28/2011 from 1:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Learn about when it is safe to treat at home, understand how herbs can compliment traditional medicines safely. Learn about the signatures of herbs and foods, and how you can tell by looking at a plant what it is used for? We will be teaching energetics, learning how to read the energy of the palm & water to find out where the weakness in the body is and select the appropriate herbs. This will include a also working with detox foot baths. 

  • We will also be making tinctures and glycerites for herbal medicine. 
  • Learn how to make an herbal oil, and essential oils - healing with scents, easy herbal creams, (we will be making some Arnica to use for sore muscles and everyone will go home with a jar), 
  • We will be melting and pouring soap 
  • Working with Herbal Energetics

$275 - This includes the course materials fee. 15 CE Hours. 

 

New Touch, Presence and Healing - An Introduction to Energy and Touch with Jim Gilkeson
Fri, Sat, Sun 9/16/2011 - 9/18/2011 Time 10:00 - 4:00  
Touchwork: Integrating energy work into massage with other touch therapies. This is an intro to practitioners to want to integrate energy practices into massage. 
Topics will include:
  • Working at the cusp of structure and energy
  • The physical body as a "handle" on physical, emotional and psycho-spiritual processes
  • A non-modality-bound approach to energetic bodywork
  • The development from bodyworker to healer
  • Recurring psycho-spiritual themes in energetic work and their application in energy-active bodywork

Low-back Pain with Cimber Cade
Fri 8/19/2011 from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM  - This course will cover how to assess and treat clients with lower-back pain. 4 CE's, $35

 

Senior Massage (Adaptive Techniques) with Madonna Polley and Dana Mann 
Sat, Sun 8/27/2011 - 8/28/2011 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Prerequisite-RN or CMT - Learn the appropriate massage techniques and body mechanics to use while working with this special population. 12 CE's, $250 

 

CPR with Danielle Stephenson 
Fri 8/26/2011 from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM - A 2-year EMS Safety Service card given at the end of class. 4 CE's, $50

Anatomy Basics with Core Instructors

The foundation of anatomy for the CMT (Certified Massage Therapy) course. Learning the body compass, the muscles, and the skeletal system. 30 CE Hours $300 + $75 Material Fee

Chair Massage with Jeff Bassett

Prerequisite: CMT or RN Learn Chair massage techniques and marketing strategies for gaining access to business and community events. 12 CE's, $250

Program Information

 

Fair Oaks Massage Institute offers a variety of massage therapy certification programs and continuing education classes. 

 

Our  Massage Practitioner program combines the Massage Therapy Program (130 Hours) with the Deep Tissue (Medical) Massage Certification (120 Hours) to give you eligibility to apply for California State certification as a Certified Massage Practitioner. 

 

This is our most common program for new students just starting out in massage therapy; offering core development in Swedish massage, Deep Tissue and some advanced techniques.

 

Open Enrollment- Classes Starting Every 6-7 Weeks All Programs With Flexible Start Dates
