Community Meeting Mysteries & Crime - Free Brunch |
Oct. 22 Saturday in the park (8th & Orizaba) from 10am-noon
Free Brunch!
Meet local authors:
Carl Lipo, Ph.D "The Statues that Walked"
"A revolutionary perspective of the most intriguing society on earth. Hunt and Lipo unite old and new research findings in a coherent, surprising account of the real reason for the collapse of Easter Island's populations - it was notgreed and shortsightedness. And, incidentally, a compelling account of what purpose those statues served and how they were moved."
Barbara Ardinger, Ph.D. "Secret Lives"
Set in Long Beach's historic Rose Park neighborhood, Secret Lives tells the adventures in a year in the lives of a circle of crones, mothers, and a maiden. Among the other characters are the Green Man, an ageless Neolithic shaman, a ghostly inquisitor, the Norns gone mad in the modern world, and a lost goddess who reminds us of Red Riding Hood.
The authors will read from their books that are available for signing.
Meet with Claudia Lopez our LBPD East Division liason. She will answer questions about crime in Rose Park and how Community Watch programs can help.
Meet representatives from the Long Beach Public Library Alamitos Branch. Re-Discover the Library and its new resources.
