"Therefore we wanted to come to you--even I, Paul, time and again--but Satan hindered us."  

1 Thessalonians 2:18

Paul tells the church in Thessalonica that he had desired to come to them earlier but was hindered by satan. It reminds us that we have a real enemy out there. The enemy may not have flesh and blood, but he is just as real as if he did, and much more deadly! We have no reason to fear satan, but we should be ever so aware of his presence and mission. Just like Paul we have been given the mission of the Great Commission; to spread the Gospel throughout all the earth, making disciple of men and women. But, this mission will not go unchallenged by the enemy. He and his cohorts are always about trying to hinder the work of the Gospel. He will stop at nothing to prevent the Great Commission from being fulfilled! Don't be afraid, but do be aware! Keep a look out for his evil work at all times, and don't be surprised when you see it in your life. Take authority over him and his demonic forces in the name of Jesus, and cast them out of your way! The victory had been won, but the enemy will not rest! Stay vigilant as you work the Great Commission, always ready for battle, and never forget the victory is ours!
