"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses." Matthew 8:16-17

Everywhere Jesus went He healed all those who came to Him. Everyone who came to Jesus looking to be healed was! No one left disappointed! When Jesus came into Peter's house and saw his mother-in-law was sick he immediately went over and healed her. The accounts of Jesus healing those who sought it throughout the bible are incredible. In our text Matthew reminds us that this fact should come as no surprise, because it was foretold by the prophet Isaiah that He would take our infirmities and sicknesses.

Many Christians go about today carrying their own sicknesses thinking it is God's will for them to be sick, but the scriptures teach us that Jesus came to take them away. If Jesus came to take our sicknesses how could it be God's will for us to carry them around ourselves? I believe God wants us in perfect health today. Our bodies belong to Him, and through the Holy Spirit He lives inside us, why would the Lord want to live inside a broken down temple that He can't use for His glory? If today you're sick in your body and believe it's God's will for you to be sick I encourage you to consider the scriptures! Jesus came to take our infirmities and to bear out sickness! Jesus is unchanging and He is still in the business of healing those who seek Him out!

"Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5
