A Regular Checkup...

"Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? --unless indeed you are disqualified." 2 Corinthians 13:5

Just as we go to the doctor for regular checkups to make sure we're healthy and strong physically, so also should we have regular spiritual checkups to make sure we are living as we are called to. We should regularly examine ourselves to see where we are in the faith. We must on a regular basses look into the mirror of God's Word and see what it reveals about our life. We cannot afford to turn our heads and walk past the mirror. We must look into the mirror and respond appropriately to what we see. If the mirror of God's Word reveals we are out of shape and off course, we must repent and get back on course. If we refuse to examine ourselves on a regular base we may find ourselves in a bad place, a place that could be very hard to get out of. But if we will regularly examine ourselves, looking into God's Word; we can quickly get back to where we need to be with God, before things get to far out of hand. Schedule regular spiritual checkups, where you look into the mirror of God's Word, and see the truth of your relationship with the Lord.

"For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was." James 1:23-24
