"Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world." 1 Corinthians 5:10

Paul warns the Corinthian believers about socializing with people in the church who are suppose to be following Jesus, but are living sexually immoral life styles. Paul tells them they should have nothing to do with such people. Those who have chosen to join themselves to the Church of Jesus Christ are to forsake their life of sin. Paul goes on to tell them that he is not talking about people who are out in the world, but only those who are in the Church. It would make no sense to stay away from those in the outside world living immorally, because we have been commanded to go after them, bringing them the message of the Gospel. Jesus prayed that we would be insulated from the world, and not isolated. We are to be in the world bringing the redemptive message of Jesus to it. We don't go out in the world to participate in its lustful ways, but we go with a purpose given to us by God. Let us never forget we are to be in the world, but at no time are we to act like it! We are the bride of Christ, and we should always behave as such!
