Art... Visual Arts. Music, drama, dance... these are all enrichment activities we strive to incorporate into our programs at King Street Center.
Kids clamor to try their hand as artists and we aim to provide consistent exposure. I am grateful to Burlington City Arts for providing our Pre-Schoolers with multi-week sessions here at King Street, Flynn Arts as they get our kids dancing across the studio floor, and now the LKW Fund as they plan a special fundraiser to help bring an artist-in-residence to King Street Center this summer.
With the stewardship of wonderful community members, Art, Ginny, and Kevin Greenblott, King Street kids are preparing for their 5th Annual Talent Extravaganza. This event was initially created as a means to get mentors involved, encourage kids to learn new creative skills and show them off in a special venue. I hope you'll join me and the whole King Street Center community as we cheer on our artists, March 24, at Contois Auditorium.

Volunteer of the Month
Erik Giard-Chase is a welcome addition to the Zebra room - helping 2nd & 3rd grade kids to prepare for the upcoming Talent Extravaganza by building props, playing outside with the class and lending a hand at the recent Family Night Dinner. Teacher Peggy Curtis says, "The kids love working with Erik!"
Erik volunteers at King Street "to connect with young people and kids" and emulate a mentor that he had as a child. "Who would have thought playing tag on a playground at 25 could be so much fun?"
