Greetings!

It's spring now!  Plants are blooming and so can we!  How?  By planting  new ideas and watching  the blooms take shape as the fruits and flowers of our professional association take hold!

Not only will you be able to cultivate new thoughts for yourself, but you will cross-pollinate these innovations with your students and voila - you have a beautiful garden of a studio!  Find out more about these great new ideas at the Program Meeting:   "Roundtable II" on Friday, April 13!

Enough of the planting metaphors - but annually (and more!) we need to get together and tend to our profession and whorl like plants around our common goals!

Congratulations to the recently reinstated CCM Collegiate Chapter.  Read the article on their upcoming event!  Hope you will consider supporting their efforts!

Happy gardening, happy spring and see you on the 13th - the most ominous of days to be sure!

Come join the newly reinstated CCM MTNA Collegiate Chapter for its first concert and fundraising event at St. John's Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday, April 22nd! The concert will include fun and engaging piano solos, duets, and ensembles performed by members of the CCM Collegiate Chapter. Performances will be accompanied by insightful commentary and information about the collegiate chapter and its mission.

Beginnings, the chapter's fundraising CD, will be available with a modest donation. The album constitutes a collection of our personal favorites, ranging from Bach to Rachmaninoff. All performances on the CD were recorded live by collegiate chapter members and represent each of us as musical individuals.

So come meet the CCM MTNA Collegiate Chapter and enjoy a delightful mosaic of piano music!"

2012 Auditions Festival Performers Shine!

This year approximately 360 students of 46 teachers participated in the Auditions Festival on March 11 at CCM.

So many students were exceptionally well prepared that the judges asked to nominate extra Honors Recital performers! Those 44 students, representing 22 teachers, performed at the Church of the Saviour on March 17.

Many thanks to Richard Van Dyke, who as Co-Chair acted as Judge Liason and helped at the Festival all day. Thanks also to Terry Granick and Benita Tse-Leung, who coordinated the Honors Recitals.

A special note of appreciation to all the teachers and students who volunteered as monitors, set-up, delivery and purchase agents, mailers, and greeters. The Festival could not happen without your willing hands!

And thank you to Darlene Suggs, who chairs this event with an expertise and grace that is unparalleled.
