The EPN Consulting Newsletter

Whilst some of you are planning their summer holidays, the European Commission is preparing the launch of a number of FP7 calls for proposals on several subjects: Transport, Energy, Environment, ICT, Security, etc.

A series of Information Days are organised in Europe to inform potential applicants on topics, rules and funds available. Below you find more details about some of them.

In the meantime, a new FP7 call was published last 27th June within the Joint Technology Initiative (Annex IV-SP1) calls . It is the ENIAC-2011-2 and it will close next 15th Sept 2011.

Last 21st June it was chosen the name of the future EU Funding Programme for Research and Innovation: HORIZON 2020. It will be an integrated funding system that will cover all research and innovation funding currently provided through the Framework Programme for Research and Technical Development, the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). These different types of funding will be brought together in a coherent and flexible manner.

We would like to remind you that Friday 8th July 2011 EPN Consulting and the University of the West of England, Bristol (UK), will hold a 1-day Short Course on: "Intelligent Transport Systems and their applications in EU Projects" at UWE premises. You still have time until 6th July to register your attendance!

"1-day Short Course on ITS and their applications in EU projects"

EPN Consulting and the University of the West of England have jontly organised a 1-day Short Course on:

"Intelligent Tranport Systems and their applications in EU Projects" that will be held at UWE premises in Bristol (UK) next 8th July.

The course will give a description of how European Projects and Intelligent Transport Systems have improved the Transport sector in the last 20 years with an evolution from pure technology to sustainability. The European GALILEO satellites constellation is described as an opportunity of introducing added value services in Transport in the next decade. Special attention is paid to the importance of designing Advanced Travel Information Systems properly to stimulate behavioural changes.
The participation into projects co-funded by the European Commission (EC) is also a way of funding new initiatives that help introduce and consolidate sustainability in transport with a consequent improvement of the Environment protection and Quality of Life. Description of EC projects structures and how to prepare a good proposal are discussed and followed by examples of key EC projects that have shaped the future of ITS in Europe. Registrations are open until 6th July 2011. Hurry up!
