Dear Subscriber,
We hope that you had a nice Easter holiday. The UK-based companies enjoyed one of the longest period of holiday as the Royal Wedding and the May Day Bank Holiday helped prolong the Easter break. You know how much EPN Consulting is committed to reduce CO2 emissions and to make better use of Public Trasport. Last month we advertised the EU Sustainable Energy Week both on the newsletter and on our website homepage. As we like being a bit ahead of others we have already started advertising the European Mobility Week that will happen next 16 to 22 September. We think that a successful event is well prepared when enough time is available and this IS a particularly important event. The following paragraph was taken from the European Mobility Week website: The European Mobility Week is an awareness raising campaign aiming at sensibilising citizens to the use of public transport, cycling, walking and at encouraging European cities to promote these modes of transport and to invest in the new necessary infrastructures. [...] The overall aim of the European Mobility Week campaign is to encourage public awareness of the need to act against pollution caused by the increase in motorised traffic in the urban environment. In fact, it is not just a question of fighting atmospheric pollution or noise but also of improving the quality of urban life. More details about this campaign are here. Continuing with transport issues, please be informed that next 18-19 July 2011 in Brussels there will be Info Days regarding the new FP7 Transport call. This will be a good opportunity to learn useful information from the Commissioners themselves as well as to meet potential partners. If you would like that EPN Consulting represents you in some ways (i.e. to search for specific partners), please let us know. On the Environmental side, it is worth knowing that the Eco-Innovation call was launched at the end of April and will be open until 8th Sept 2011. Taken from the Eco-Innovation website: With 3.4 million jobs in eco-industries and a growing demand for environmental products and services, Europe has the potential to meet the environmental challenges of the future. The EU's Eco-innovation initiative was set up to tap this potential to the fullest by giving clever ideas and new environmentally-friendly solutions a chance to reach an EU-wide market. Eco-innovation boosts economic growth whilst protecting the environment.
The cross-cutting initiative provides funding for projects in various sectors that mitigate environmental impacts or promote a more efficient use of resources. Priority areas include material recycling, buildings, the food and drink sector as well as greener business. EPN Consulting can help you assess your project idea, search for partners and prepare the proposal. Please get in touch for any question you may have. As you can see there is a lot of effort put in Europe to improve the quality of our lives. We shouldn't forget that a lot depends also on each of us during our daily life.
