Band and Keyboard News
Andrew Stokes recently represented Holy Cross as a member of the American Independent Music Association's All-State Honors Band this year. Students were selected from Christian Schools across the state, touring Virginia and performing in the Virginia Beach and Central VA areas.
On May 10, our Holy Cross Band and Keyboard Musicians performed at the Central Virginia District Music Festival, along with musicians from most area Christian Schools. Parents, students and guests were treated to a large repertoire of exciting music, with special recognition and awards presented to outstanding instrumentalists of the year.

Calling all Rising 3rd, 4th and 5th grade Moms: The HCRCS Girls on the Run team needs you! Even as we look to the close of the 2011-2012 school year, we are making plans for the Fall 2012 Season which begins the last week of August and ends November 17th with the Celebration 5K Run. It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Monica Casker and Wendy Golden, HC Girls on the Run Coaches for the past three years, as their daughters move into HC Middle School. Thank you Monica and Wendy for an AWESOME job!
In order to continue the tradition of a HCRS Girls on the Run team, twoVolunteer Coaches are needed. This could easily be you! The program is usually held on Mondays and Wednesday, shortly after dismissal, but the schedule is flexible to fit the Coach's Schedule. Please avoid Thursday due to the Tutoring schedule. All Coaches are trained by Girls on the Run of Central Virginia, and equipped with a "Coach's Box" containing all necessary supplies for the lessons. The Curriculum is easy to follow and fun, even for the Coaches. Running/walking is involved but you do not need to be a "real runner" to Coach. Come on, what are you waiting for? Your daughters will love the Girls on the Run experience and so will you! For more details contact Monica Casker, Wendy Golden or Mary Hansen.
