Congratulations to Caitlyn Eichmann who will be honored by the Lynchburg Optimist Club with their Excellence in Music Award at a luncheon on March 15th. Caitlyn's dedication to her musical studies and her growth as a violinist make her a worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
Getting Trees with Chocolate!
The Holy Cross Regional School Honor Societies will be selling Ghirardelli Easter and other chocolate this month. We are raising funds to put trees along the edge of the back parking lot for beauty and shade. Please order from a NJHS or NHS member or click on the links below to view the chocolate and download the order forms. ALL ORDERS ARE DUE BY MARCH 16 AND WILL BE DELIVERED APRIL 2!. Grandparents Day is Coming! As we prepare for our annual Grandparents Day program, we need your help in gathering addresses. New for this year: Please enter all grandparent information through RenWeb by March 23rd. The process is quick, easy and allows Holy Cross to continue on our mission of "going green". Please note that we will not be sending any address request information through your children.
Instructions for adding grandparent information to
the Parent Portal of Renweb
Log on to your Parent Portal
Under School Information, Click on Web Forms, then click on
Family Demographic Form
Scroll down to Grandparents
Click add Grandparent
Fill out information
Click Grandparent, YES
Click Save
Click return to main form and repeat starting with Step 2.
Yard Sale Pickup
On May 19th, our PTO will hold a yard sale. When the sale is over, we will need to dispose of the items that did not sell. Do you belong to an organization that might want to hold a yard sale? Even though we sell a huge amount of items, we still have enough left over to make a good yard sale for someone else. Pick-up would be required on Saturday, May 19, at 2:00. There will be an alumni reunion for basketball players and cheerleaders who participated during Dr. Laneve's years as coach at HC. All alums are invited; however, this reunion will focus on those who played for Coach or
cheered for his basketball teams. Please join in this reunion on Saturday, March 24 at 6 pm at the school. Lenny Frye is coordinating this effort, so he would like an RSVP for those planning to come. Elementary Kite Day will be held on Friday, March 16. Check with your child's teacher for the time.
Young Authors and Sylvan
The elementary Young Authors award assembly and Sylvan reading rewards will be on Thursday 3/15 at 2:00 in the cafeteria.
March 17 will be the Annual Middle School Etiquette Dinner. Please remember to RSVP.
Saturday Morning League
Saturday morning baseball and softball league has started. If your son or daughter would like to learn the basic of the games, have them join us every Saturday from 9:00 to11:00. Grades 3rd to 8th are welcome. Hope to see you there.
Basketball Open Gym:
Brian Blackstock (Varsity Boys Coach) will be having open gyms every Monday and Thursday, starting March 12th. This is for boys and girls grades 6th - 12th. Open gyms will run 3:30 to 5:00 on SUNNY days only. If it is raining there will be NO open gyms.

Read across America/Sylvan Learning Center top readers- 2012
The following students in grades 3-5 were the top readers for the month of February in their class. Congratulations to all of these students, and to all of their classmates for a wonderful job in our "Read across America" incentive. All students in grades Pk-5 were rewarded with a Dr. Seuss birthday party and trip to the treasure box and a new book. The top readers in grades 3-5 are eligible for prizes from Sylvan Learning Center!
3rd grade: Zach Morris (runners up: Kaitlyn Davis, Matthieu Peralta and Anna Taylor)
