 Be sure to tune in to WSET at 12:30 on Monday, January 23,  to see Holy Cross on Living in the Heart of Virginia.  Our very own Doug Washington was interviewed about our "Writing to Be Read" curriculum and our recent visitor, Jonathan Coleman.  It's a great segment highlighting our great school!

Parents, Become a Gael Buddy!
The Admissions Office is seeking parents to welcome new families when their students enroll at Holy Cross.  You're the friendly face that reaches out to them to answer any questions and "show them the ropes."   If interested, please contact Amy Hunt Lawson at lawson_a@hcrs-va.org.

Important-Uniform Policy for Elementary Students 
Per the Uniform Code in the 2011-2012 Parent/Student Handbook, outerwear that may be worn in the building must be Holy Cross wear (anything sold in the office).  We have found a supplier who can offer us a fleece (green with zipper and HC embroidered on it) or sweatshirt (green with HC silkscreen on front) for $25 if we purchase more than 36 units.  If you are interested in purchasing one of these sweatshirts or fleeces, please email wingfield_j@hcrs-va.org and specify fleece or sweatshirt.  Once we have interest in the required number of units, we will send an order form to purchase the items.  Students may wear heavier coats and non-HC outerwear but will be required to take them off once they are in the classroom.



Forensics News

It was a small team from HCRS for the Virginia Catholic Forensic League tournament at Warwick High School invfl Newport News, VA, but that did not stop them! Meghann Hansen and Daniel Casker took 2nd Place in Public Forum and Joe Bruzek and Grayson Kosciusko placed fourth in Duo Interpretation. It was a good day for all.  Well done Gaels,  and enjoy those purple trophies!

 

 

 

 

Middle School Parents SAVE the DATE!

The Etiquette dinner for all students in grades 6-8 will be on March 17, 2012.  Please mark this annual event on your calendars today!
