-We Have A Clock Winner...

On behalf of the school community, I thank those of you who took a raffle chance on the Breguet Grandfather Clock. The school is grateful to Marilyn Gilbert for donating the clock and to Mr. Jeff Hansen who "steered" it in our direction. The school raised an even $700.00 and we are most grateful. The winning ticket went to Mr. Randall Trost who was in attendance at our Grandparents' Day Program.

-The Annual Fund...

You still have time to make that tax-deducible donation to this year's Annual Fund. Please help us get as close to our goal as possible. The Annual Fund helps the school make up the difference between tuition/subsidies and the actual cost to educate the children. This is why it is so important. Remember, there is no such thing as an insignificant donation as every donation is important and special. Why...? Because every donor is important and special... like YOU!

-The 19^th Annual Golf Tournament...

HolyCrossSchool will once again hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, June 25^th at London Downs Golf Club. The cost to enter a foursome is $300.00. The format is Captain's Choice. Registration begins at noon will a luncheon to follow. We plan to tee-off at 1:30 p.m. Entry fee includes food and all beverages. Please call the school office at 847-5436 for more details.  

The Annual Summer Alumni Gathering is scheduled for Saturday, July 16^th here at HolyCrossSchool. We begin with a family picnic from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. (5.00 per person/15.00 per family); family games to follow from 2:00 -4:00 p.m. and we end that evening with the alumni fellowship gathering from 6:30 -12:00 p.m. with live music, food, beverages, and fellowship (15.00 person/25.00 couple) beverages by donation.

      Again congratulations to Mr. Randall Trost and thanks in advance to all who have or will contribute to our Annual Fund.

HIT THE BOOKS: Elementary students: If you have completed the reading goal for your class, bring in your Hillcats book marks in to be signed by Wed. May18th. Then take them to Sylvan Learning Center through Thursday, May 19^th to receive your tickets to the May 20^th Hillcats baseball game!

ALL BOOKS ARE DUE BACK TO THE LIBRARY BY FRIDAY, MAY 20TH FOR INVENTORY!  (There are paperback books in the library which can be lent out through the end of school.)

ACCELERATED READER NEWS:  Hats off to Mrs. Hickey's 1^st graders!  All students are now participating in the Accelerated Reader program with great enthusiasm and are flying high with it! We are looking to restock our A.R. store where the students spend accumulated A.R. points. Contact Mrs. Main If you wish to donate any items, new or gently used, that would make good prizes for students in 1^st-5^th grade. main_h@hcrs-va.org
