Many Judges Needed:
The 7th and 8th Grade Science Fair will take place on March 3rd from 1:00-3:10. Many judges are needed to make this event successful. Please complete the sign up which went home in the Brown Envelopes or email Cindy Kluba at kluba_c@hcrs-va.org. No experience necessary. Thank you for your support.

Wow!!!!! I would like to thank the parents, teachers and students for sending in your Box Tops. You guys are awesome!! We have had a great year with everyone participating. The winners of the contest are:

Congrats students and ladies!!!! Keep sending in your Box Tops and Campbells labels. You can put them in the collection box in the front of the school.
Friday, March 4, the Young Authors awards ceremony will take place in the cafeteria at 8:30 for elementary students. Middle and high schoolers will be awarded during their lunches.
PTO News on Ticket Reimbursement
If you purchased a cash raffle ticket, your reimbursement is now available in the school office. Please come in when you can to sign for your reimbursement. If you wish to have your check mailed to you or sent home by your child, please call the school office. Please consider our Annual Fund if you would like to donate your ticket money. Thanks for your efforts and we are still looking for fundraising ideas. If you have an idea, please email wingfield_j@hcrs-va.org

Invitations to the Annual Middle School Etiquette Dinner
being held on March 26th are in the mail! Students will be given a letter on Monday that gives more details about the event. We are looking forward to a wonderful evening.

Willy Wonka Rehearsals Begin
Rehearsals for Willy Wonka begin on Monday for main characters. If you did not receive the rehearsal schedule, please let Mrs. Shenigo know at thirdgael@aol.com
Shamrock Tournament
The Middle School Girl's Basketball team traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina to participate in the 50th Annual Shamrock Middle School Basketball Tournament. Catholic school teams from all over the southeast came to participate in the weekend long tournament. HC had a buzzer burner for their first game, playing Asheville Catholic. Holy Cross was behind by one, with six seconds left, Hannah Mutchler scored the winning basketball, HC forced a turnover and controlled the ball till the end. Saturday's game against St. Raphael (Raleigh) was a tough one, losing 44-25. Girls hung in there and fought till the end. Sarah Laurent and Jesse Kleiner were selected for the All Shamrock Tournament Team. We would like to thank all who supported our bake sales during the month of January!!! We are already making plans to return next year! Go Gaels!
  
Your Pictures of Recent Holy Cross Events Are Needed!
If you have pictures of Holy Cross events, please consider sharing them with all of our Holy Cross family! You may submit them via email to e-crossette@hcrs-va.org, or you may bring or send them on a USB or camera card to Carolyn Jones in the elementary media lab. Then they can be posted in the E-Crossette or through an online album or picture show. This is a wonderful way to show everyone what a great school Holy Cross really is!
Soccer Items Needed for Medical Mission Trip
Don't forget to bring in gently used soccer equipment for Dr. Kitty Humphreys to take on her mission trip in April. Bring all supplies in by April 7. Thanks for your support!

Art students in Mrs. Pociluyko's Studio Art II and elementary art classes have completed projects based on the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. The Studio Art class designed and painted a tree illustrating the prayer, and elementary students completed puzzle pieces on the themes of the prayer.
