Santa and PTO need your help!
                                                           Santa Breakfast
We have a wonderful tradition fast approaching on December 4th.  Each year we get more and more people from the community in our school for Breakfast with Santa, and we want to make sure they have a great time.  Here are volunteer opportunities for you and your middle/high school students:

  • Set-up on December 3rd after school and again on Saturday morning at 7 A.M
  • Chefs for our pancake breakfast- arrive by 6:30 A.M.
  • Decorating ideas for breakfast tables- can be set up Friday evening
  • Craft tables- craft items provided; just help during the event
  • Work the front door taking money for breakfast
  • Help sell/wrap in Santa Shop
  • Clean up - after breakfast 11:30 and/or after bazaar 1:00

Please email wingfield_j@hcrs-va.org if you can help at any time!
Thanks!

BBArnes and Noblearnes & Noble "Book Fair" December 9th-15thHoly Cross will begin its weeklong event at Barnes & Noble on Thursday, December 9th.. On that day and the week following, Holy Cross will earn a percentage of the sales of our families and friends at any location of Barnes & Noble or on line.  If you are shopping on December 9th, you can present a voucher to the cashier or simply mention that you are supporting the Holy Cross book fair.  For the rest of the fair, you must have the Holy Cross voucher with Book Fair ID #.  These will be going home in the brown envelopes this Friday and are also available for downloading on our website: hcrs-va.org   Give them out to anyone and everyone you know who might shop during that week!!!

We will kick off our "fair" with a mini-concert by our own Singing Angaels on December 9th at 6:00 p.m. by the café at the Wards Rd. Barnes & Noble store.  We will also have story time with HC faculty before and after the mini-concert!

Congratulations also go out to our parent, Mrs. Sharon Chavis, RN, BSN, NE-BC for receiving one of the ten Centra Craddock Terry Excellence in Nursing Awards for 2010.

School Safety Alert
Last Monday night, we had two cars vandalized in our back parking lot during a home basketball game.  These incidents were reported to Lynchburg police, who tell us that larceny from vehicles is the #1 crime in Lynchburg at this time.  Police suggest that car owners LOCK their cars and clear any valuable items out of sight - better yet, leave nothing of value in the car.  We plan to increase surveillance of this area during home games.

December 6  is St. Nicholas Day.  Don't forget to put out your shoes...or boots i f you have been especially good!!!
