Exciting Varsity Soccer News
The Boys Varsity Soccer team will play in the State Semi-finals on Thursday, November 11 at 7 pm at the VCU Sports Backer Stadium. A team win on Thursday night will move them into the State Finals scheduled for Friday, November 12 at 5 pm at the same stadium.
A Spirit Bus is available for middle and high school students interested in traveling to the game. Students can pick up a permission slip at the front desk on Wednesday and must return it on Thursday morning during first period. NO FAXES OR PHONECALLS will be accepted. Students MUST get a permission slip and have it signed and returned. Parents can sign permission for one day only or for both days of travel (we will alert parents to details on Friday morning on the outcome of Thursday's game via Instant-Alert to clarify plans for Friday).
Spirit bus details:
Thursday, November 11: Students should bring a change of clothes to get into Gael Spirit Wear for the game after school is dismissed. Temperatures are expected to be low, so dress warmly! The bus will leave the school at 3:30 (Mr. Ron Farringer as driver and Mr. Montana Gibson as faculty chaperone on the bus) and return at approximately 12:30 am. Other teachers who will be at the game as chaperones include Ms. Kluba and Mrs. St. Angelo.
When the Gaels WIN, a Spirit bus will leave Holy Cross at 2 pm on Friday (students traveling on the bus will be dismissed early from classes). The game is scheduled for 5 pm and the bus will return to the school at approximately 11 pm. This event will only take place if the Gaels win on Thursday; otherwise, no spirit bus will travel on Friday and students should make regular dismissal plans. Mr. Tony Mitchell will be the faculty chaperone on the bus on Friday afternoon; Ms. Kluba and Mrs. St. Angelo will help chaperone at the game.
To celebrate our State-level soccer team and our State-level Lego League team, we will have an out of uniform dress day on Friday, November 11. Students are encouraged to wear Gael Spirit Wear to show their school spirit for these great teams! This out of uniform day includes elementary, middle and high schools.
Go Gaels!
