VIRTUS training is required by the Diocese for any person
who wishes to volunteer with our students at Holy Cross School. Mr. Jeff Hansen will offer
a VIRTUS training session on Wednesday evening, November 4 at the school.
Please go to www.virtus.org to register
online for this session. Special thanks to Jeff Hansen for
offering his time to train our parents and school friends.
Boo-Gram Orders are due by October 22nd. Send your child and their
friends a special Halloween message on a sweet treat for $1.00. Candy
will be delivered on October 29th. Order forms are available on the
school website and may be returned to the office.
New HC Literary Magazine
Holy Cross is getting its own Literary Magazine, and you can help name
it!!! Anyone can offer a submission to help us to name our new
magazine. All submissions are due no later than October 29th! Parents,
students, teachers,and staff members are all welcome to submit their
best and most creative names!!!! Please give all submissions to one of the following people: Mrs.
St. Angelo, Stephen St. Angelo, Joe Bruzek, or your English Teacher! You can also send them via email: st.angelo_p@hcrs-va.org or pstangelo@yahoo.com
Middle School Fall Social on October 22nd
After Prom is
sponsoring a fall social on October 22nd for students in grades 6 - 8. The social starts at 7:00 and ends at 10:00. There will be a DJ and
snacks. Students must return permission slips and $7 for themselves
(and up to two guests) by October 20th. You can download permission slips at our school website: hcrs-va.org. If

High School Halloween Dance on October 30th
After Prom is
sponsoring a Halloween dance on October 30th for students in grades 9 -
12. The dance starts at 8:00 and ends at 11:30. There will be a DJ
and snacks. Students must return permission slips for themselves (and
up to 2 guests) by October 27th. The cost is $7 per person. Don't
forget to get guest permission slips, too. You can download both forms

Hurley Workweek 2010
This past June, forty-eight volunteers participated in the 9th
Hurley Workweek Mission. All of our area
Catholic parishes were represented including Holy Cross, St. Thomas More, St.
Francis of Assisi, Holy Name of Mary, St. Victoria and Blessed Sacrament in
Harrisonburg. Twenty-three of the
participants had close ties to Holy
Cross School
as students, graduates, former students, parents, grandparents, and school

Pig Races on November 20th!
Sponsor a pig for the races at Gaels
Corral and Casino night, then use your family name, business name,
or let your child pick a name. You will hear your name called out as the
races go on through the night. Sponsor one for your child's class and
let the class pick
the name. Racing pigs are $100 each. Email pto@hcrs-va.org if you would like to
sponsor a pig for the races!
Scrip
Christmas will be here before we know it, and HC Scrip can save the day.
