Varsity Volleyball Away at Roanoke Catholic  Tuesday 10/26  Time TBA
Varsity Soccer Home Tuesday 10/26 4:00 pm Team TBA

If both teams win they will both play Thursday. Soccer will be at home at 4:00 Volleyball will be away. If both win on Thursday the championship will be on Saturday. If either team loses they will be eliminated and will wait to see if they are invited to state.

JV Volleyball finished tied for 4th in the conference but will not make the tournament due to the tiebreaker procedure.

JV soccer will host Blue Ridge on Tuesday November 2nd.

Monday, Oct 25 is the last day to order from Innisbrook. Online orders are due by midnight Monday.   Go to Innisbrook.com and Use code 105349.  All school orders are due Tuesday morning.


Middle School Girls
Attention middle school girls interested in playing basketball, we will have a conditioning session on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 till 4:30.  Bring shoes and clothes to play in! Hope to see you there!
 

VIRTUS training is required by the Diocese for any person who wishes to volunteer with our students at Holy Cross School.  Mr. Jeff Hansen will offer a VIRTUS training session on Wednesday evening, November 3 from 6:30 to 9:30 at the school. Please go to www.virtus.org to register online for this session.  Here is the itinerary for the evening:
Protecting God's Children for Adults
Where: Holy Cross Regional School (Lynchburg)
When: Wednesday, November 3, 2010    6:30 PM
Estimated length of session:     3 hrs
Session will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Participants must be registered by the start of the first video. Session is restricted to volunteer, parents, staff of Holy Cross Regional School.

Our next See You at the Pole will be Wednesday, October 27th at 7:45 a.m.  Make plans to be there and join us for our prayer service!


Basketball Parent Meeting
There will be a mandatory parent meeting regarding basketball this winter on November 1 at 6:00 pm.


Mark your calendar now - The Scholastic Book Fair will be in the elementary library from November 12th-18th.  More details will be coming soon!   


Box Top News

Wow!!!!! We would like to thank the parents, teachers and students for sending in your Box Tops.  We had around 11,000 Box Tops turned in.  We will be having another ice cream contest in February, so keep sending in your Box Tops to your teachers.  The winners of the contest are:

     It's Turkey Time Again!
Th e  5th grade class will be sponsoring "Operation Turkey" to help feed the needy and homeless in the Lynchburg area during the holidays.
     Frozen turkeys will collected in the front parking lot of the school on Friday, November 19, 2010 and delivered to Daily Bread in Downtown, Lynchburg.
     Monetary donations will also be accepted and collection containers will be located in each classroom to buy additional turkeys.
     Your generosity is greatly appreciated!

The New Balance Girls on the Run of Greater Lynchburg Celebration 5K is coming up soon!   Student and adult volunteers are needed from 7-11 a.m. on the morning of November 20, 2010, to assist with Race set-up, Happy Hair, Photo, and Banner Stations.   We need "Running Buddies" to accompany and encourage the gir
ls as they run, spectators to line the out and back course providing safety and encouragement on the trail, water table staff and a team atGOTR the turn around point!  Holy Cross Regional School will be represented by a strong Girls on the Run team featuring 14 girls from our incredibly spirited Elementary Wing led by Coaches Monica Casker, Wendy Golden and Ana Malkiewicz!  Bring your pom-poms, dress in your spirit wear or athletic uniform with pride and a smile  and receive a highly prized special volunteer edition Girls on the Run t-shirt (if you "officially" sign up).  What more can you ask?  Oh...yes, you get service hours too!  Visit our website at http://girlsontherungreaterlynchburg.org/events-2/events/ and click on the 5K Volunteer application form.   Or you can click on GOTR Volunteer Form Forms may be left at the school office for Mary Hansen, Girls on the Run of Greater Lynchburg.
