Greetings!
September 19, 2010 Congratulations to William Loftus! William Loftus, Holy Cross Regional Catholic School Class of 2011,
was named as National Merit Semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship
Program. Congratulations to William Loftus who will compete for a National Merit
Scholarship (NMSC). William was among 1.5 million high school juniors who
took the PSAT last fall. From that pool of 1.5 million, 16,000
semifinalists were named. The NMSC was established in 1955 to honor the nation's scholastic
champions. The program honors individual students who show exceptional
academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. William Loftus is one of
only three students in the City of Lynchburg to reach the Semifinalist
level. Applebee's Dining to DonateDon't forget to plan to eat at Applebee's on Old Forest Road on Wednesday, September 22, from 4-9 p.m., and 10% of your bill will be donated to Holy Cross School. Dear School Family...
The Annual Fund Campaign is now underway for this fiscal year with a goal of
$150,000.00 ending on June 30, 2011. I thank
those of you who have already contributed and I likewise send the school's
appreciation to all our families who will contribute over the course of the
school year. Remember, every donation is significant and, according to our
means, we can all make some donation. Our goal is to have 100% of our families,
faculty/staff and board members contributing. We likewise are hopeful that many
of our regular contributors (friends, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, businesses,
and the greater community will again be generous. Your contribution to the
Annual Fund is tax-deductible and you may return it to school in the annual
fund envelope that was mailed to each family. Again, the annual fund income is a
budgeted amount and it helps offset the balance remaining from tuition and the
parish subsidies. Together, with everyone making some contribution, we will
reach our goal! Thank you and God Bless. John Jones Spirit
