School Lock-Down On Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2 pm, the school was
contacted by the Lynchburg City Police and advised to go on lock-down. We
did so immediately and sent an instant-alert to families. Our students
and teachers followed procedure very well, and the school remained a safe
environment throughout the afternoon. The school was then advised to
dismiss students at the regularly scheduled time and to cancel afternoon
activities. Local news reported just after 4:30 pm that the police have
made an arrest, and the threat is now over. We thank teachers, students and
families for their calm and supportive behavior throughout this event. We
will always put the safety of our students at the forefront of all decisions
