Applebee's Dining to Donate
Make plans now to eat at Applebee's on Old Forest Road on Wednesday, September 22, from 4-9 p.m., and 10% of your bill will be donated to Holy Cross School.  This offer is also good for take-out orders.  You must have a copy of the flyer with you in order for Holy Cross to get credit.  Click here to download and print a copy:

SCRIP
We are still taking your scrip orders every week.  Don't forget to place your Applebee's Scrip order this week so you will have it for the Dining to Donate fundraiser on September 22. See the Scrip link on the left of this page.  Email Colleen Sites at scrip@hcrs-va.org for details.

Lego Team Coaches Needed Soon!
Did you play with blocks as a child?  Do robots fascinate you?  If so, you may want to coach a Holy Cross School Lego team!  Students do all of the building and programming and you get to play along.  Contact Julia Wingfield at wingfield_j@hcrs-va.org or call 847-5436 if you have two afternoons a week to help us out.  This is a short-term volunteering opportunity.  The Lego competition is in November.

Car Wash on September 18th for After Prom We still need students AND parents to help.  Email Mrs. Sites at scrip@hcrs-va.org with times you can help.


New Spirit Wear will be arriving soon!  Various style and color sweatshirts and sweatpants for the cooler weather.  Large car magnets, baseball caps, and other fun items too. Stay tuned and get ready to shop!


Service Hours Opportunities
Attention all students: listed below are several service hour opportunities.  Great way to meet your goal and do something good for someone!
 **Stop Hunger Now-sponsored by Holy Cross Church and St. Thomas More -Meal Packaging Event-Saturday, Sept. 25th 1:00 pm at St. Thomas More.   Help package meals for us in crisis-burdened areas and in shcool feeding programs in schools and orphanages around  the world.   **Building a Faith Filled Community-Volunteers are needed to share the work of converting the HCS gym into a worship place.   All different skill are needed.  Any amount of time will be greatly appreciated.  Contact Jim Martin at 384-0283 or jmartin5943@comcast.net  Help needed starting on Sunday, Sept. 26th.

Order Yearbooks Now and Save!
It's a great time to buy yearbooks at Holy Cross Regional Catholic School!  You can now purchase your student's yearbook online at www.yearbookforever.com. Don't wait - yearbooks are on sale for $40 and will increase in price throughout the year! 

Amazing Mile Run
Holy Cross School is looking for lots of participants for the Amazing Mile Run which will be held on September 24th as part of the Virginia 10 Miler Celebration Weekend.  Please visit the Amazement Square website for details and registration information.

Virginia 10Miler Block Party
Make plans to join the Virginia 10miler Holy Cross Block Party on September 25th.  More info to follow but mark your calendar be there to cheer the runners as they make their way down Langhorne and then on their journey towards the finish line!

Boy Scouts
A representative of Boy Scouts will come on Monday to talk to our boys in grades 1 - 5 about the scouting program.  Look for information coming home so you can decide if you want your son to participate in Boy Scouts.

Middle & High School News

Middle School Putt Putt Trip
On September 15th our Middle School will be traveling to the Put Putt Fun Center on Timberlake Road.  In celebration of the outing middle school participants will have a jeans day on the 15th.  Permission forms and additional information was sent home on Friday, Sept 3rd.  Please return the completed permission form and activity fee to your homeroom teacher by September 13th.  Parental pick up is at 4:30 at the Fun Zone.  If parents are picking up other student(s) a written note from the student's parent is required.


After Prom Meeting for 11th Grade Parents- Wednesday, September 15th, at 6:00 P.M. in the school cafeteria.  Please come with ideas for After Prom prizes and activities.

Service Hours Opportunity

Attention Middle and High School Students start working on your service hours!!  The PTO needs your help on Friday, September 17th!  Students are needed to help set up and prepare for the Yard Sale which will be held on Saturday, September 18th.  Set up will begin right after school on that Friday and will continue till about 7:00.  Give PTO an hour or two and you will not only be helping the school but also receive service hour credit.
