The Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Dinner and Auction

Our 85th Annual Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Awards Dinner & Auction, was a Great Success! Held on April 19th at the Elms Hotel & Spa, located at 401 Regent St.
On behalf of the Board of Directors the Chamber would like to thank Gary Ryther, for the great job in handling the auction, and a special thanks to those businesses who donated to our auction and to those of you who purchased tickets for the dinner and the scholarship paddle raffle. The Annual Awards Dinner is our special way to recognize community leaders and member businesses.
Nearly 200 people attended and were able to see the newly renovated Elm's Hotel & Spa. Price Chopper was named the Business of the Year, Excelsior Springs Standard was Mid-Sized Business of the Year, and S & M Electric received the Small Business of the Year Award.
Bob & Marilyn Gerdes received the Citizens of the Year award, and Joe and Pat Jones were named Citizens of the Years, Chamber Member of the Year was Cheryl Boos, and Volunteer of the Year was Clark Pugh.

Chamber member provides computer repair service
Jordan List, owner of List I.T., LLC, manages a computer services and repair business in Excelsior Springs. He joined the Chamber in November 2011.
"I joined the Chamber because of the unique networking and socializing opportunities offered," Jordan said. "Even though List I.T. is a new business, I have been working with computers and serving the community and surrounding area since 2006."
Home and business clients are served by a team of computer professionals. A free computer evaluation is offered as an in-shop service.

With over 10 years experience in I.T., Jordan's passion for technology and desire to serve others has never been stronger. During those years of serving customers, he has successfully obtained a degree in computer science, as well as technical certifications.

Johnson Mechanical Services
Brad Johnson, owner-manager of Johnson Mechanical Services LLC, joined the Chamber in February of this year. Brad has offered heating, cooling, refrigeration and restaurant equipment service for the past year.
"Excelsior is a growing community that has a lot to offer small businesses that are looking not to compete in the larger city markets," said Brad, who has lived in Excelsior Springs the past 23 years.
Brad is has a Master Mechanical License and 16 years experience in residential and commercial service and repair. He attended high school in Excelsior Springs and started HVAC at the Career Center, here. He joined the Chamber to become more active in the community, to make new contacts and friends through networking and referrals.

Ribbon Cuttings | | |
A Chamber Ribbon Cutting was held during the open house of The Artisan Gallery/Heirloom Photograpy, 451 S. Thompson Ave., on April 13.
On April 16 there
was a Ribbon Cutting at the Cricket Wireless Store, 125 Crown Hill Road at 7:00 p.m.
