I don't know where to start to thank everyone for your emails, calls, cards, words of comfort and prayers these last couple of weeks since my Father passed away. Most people my age have had to deal with losing their parents long ago so I know I was extremely blessed to have over sixty years with each of mine.
At the "going away service" our minister spoke briefly about not having a chance to say goodbye. It comes down to the "If Only" syndrome. If only I had known that I would not see him again, I would have said this, or I would have done that. Then she reminded us that what my Father would say to us is to not fret about that, but to put those "if onlys" to good use with others in your circle.
The lesson for each of us is to never be so busy that we don't have a minute for someone we love and never let a chance go by to tell them we love them. We will not always have another chance.

Pup Of The Week
Meet Daphne - A 3 year old, 13 lb terrier mix. The shelter had labeled her as completely unapproachable and agressive. She had been at the shelter for 6 weeks and her time was up. Eldad and I thought we were going to have our work cut out for us, but she was actually quite easy. She was totally freaked out and shaking in the kennel and wouldn't come near us, even when offered a cheeseburger. As soon as we pulled her out of the kennel and had her in a quiet place, she crawled into our laps and was taking treats from us. She's very sweet indeed!
Let this be another reminder to us that you cannot judge a dog based on just seeing them in a kennel with several other dogs. If you were suddenly stuck in a cage, you too would be a different person.
Daphne is being spayed in the morning
and will then be transferred to
our vet for aftercare.
