A Storm System

From Texas to the Carolinas, the southeastern part of this country has been pummeled by high winds, hail, thunder-storms and, on Wednesday, April 27, historic tornado outbreaks.
All of this follows the devastating tornadoes that struck North Carolina on April 16, 2011. To say that April has been a bad month for tornadoes is a gross understatement. The loss of lives, properties, and in some cases, livelihoods is difficult to comprehend. Those of us who were spared this historic devastation are fortunate indeed.
There are many ways to help:
- You can make a $10 donation to the Red Cross by texting: REDCROSS to 90999.
- People across the country can donate blood.
- Contact your state nursery association to see how you can help your fellow nurserymen the most.
- Visit http://www.ncnla.com/ to learn how to specifically help those dealing with destruction in North Carolina.
- Remember that many communities need manpower, equipment, and skilled laborers and operators as much as anything else.
- And above all else, please keep these people and communities in your prayers.
