Pup of the Week
| |
Although Bruno is only 6 months old, he is already housebroken and knows a few commands. He's healthy and has had all of his puppy shots. He gets along great with other dogs, children - even CATS!
Bruno is at the Meriwether County Animal Shelter here in Georgia. You can find out more about adopting him by contacting the shelter at 706-672-2966.

Thought (& Song) for the Day | |
Our children may save us if they are taught to care properly for the planet; but if not, it may be back to the Ice Age or the caves from where we first emerged. Then we'll have to view the universe above from a cold, dark place. No more jet skis, nuclear weapons, plastic crap, broken pay phones, drugs, cars, waffle irons, or television. Come to think of it, that might not be a bad idea.
~Jimmy Buffet
Since we honored Jimmy Buffett with our quote of the day, it's a good excuse to experience what JB does best: write and sing. So take a break and listen to this rather serious composition. I especially like his comment on life near the end: "Some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, but I had a good life all the way." |
The Perennial Pipeline
Perennial Pipeline plants are delivered on company trucks within a 300 mile radius of Baltimore or via palletized freight or common carrier for greater volumes or distances. |

A Happy Accident
This is what happened when some Creeping Jenny Goldilocks and Bronze Beauty Ajuga collided in our French drain at home. Looks like a pretty good idea to me. A couple of Happy Campers enjoying

Variegated Needlepoint Ivy 4-15-11 | mentioned the English Ivy crisis this spring. The scarcity of English Ivy continues to be a thorn in the flesh as we plunge into April full steam ahead. After selling out of our first crop before it was even rooted, we are now scrambling to come up with more to satisfy good customers who NEED large numbers NOW! I have at least three customers who could use 5,000 or more immediately and another
|
Baltic Ivy 4-15-11 | who needs nearly 8,000. That's not counting two different calls received in the last 24 hours each looking for 100,000 rooted cuttings of English. After a long, cold winter, you better believe I'd love to be filling these orders.
As a temporary solution, our new crops of "other" ivies are rapidly approaching maturity. In addition to the several variegated ivies in this group, we also have Baltic Ivy which is a good alternative to English. The Baltic Ivy is extremely close to English Ivy in appearance and hardiness. The basic difference is that the Baltic Ivy has a pronounced whitish vein in the leaf which is quite attractive and the Baltic Ivy

is also considered a bit more cold hardy. What's not to like about that? But don't take my word for it; please refer to photo. Meanwhile, we do have more starter plugs in the works, so sooner than later, we will actually have English Ivy available again. Hang in there!
