Hello CIS Families,
We hope that you had a wonderful weekend!
Though the school year is quickly coming to an end, there is still a lot going on at CIS. Please take a few minutes to read about all of the wonderful events remaining in this school year.
There are still important decisions to be made and ample opportunities to contribute to our wonderful CIS community!
Thank you.

CIS students represented our school very well at the NM State Battle of the Books Competition in Slver City this weekend!
Our Battle of the Books Club was one of 66 schools and 381 kids competing on knowledge from a 20 book reading list! Way to go, guys!
CLUB NEWS
Lego Club will not meet on Monday as they are done for the year. |
If you have an idea about a club to offer at CIS for the 2012-13 school year, contact tprewitt@gmail.com as soon as possible! |

MUSIC NEWS Our 4th and 5th graders spent last Thursday May 10th representing our school and spreading good cheer through music performances at two local nursing homes. The students did a wonderful job singing and visiting with the older folks, who were so thankful for our music and smiles. Thank you to Dr. Diaz, Maestra Rhonda and Maestra Kavita for allowing this tradition to continue. --from Robyn Clarke p.s. Parents--we are looking forward to sharing this performance with you during our last week of school, most likely Wednesday May 23rd. Look for more details from your classroom teacher! |
|
LIBRARY NEWS You will receive an email directly from our Librarian Miss Nancy notifying you of any outstanding book loans your child has on record. Please be on the lookout for this email and help your child remember to locate and return all CIS library books before the end of the school year! |

TRANSITION DAY
Transition Day will be this Tuesday May 15th, beginning at 8:30 - 10:55 a.m. This is an opportunity for our PYP students to spend time with their next year's teacher and experience what it will be like next school year!
For example, Kinder students will spend the morning in the first grade classroom with Maestra Nicole, while the first grade students will go to the second grade classroom with Maestra Shellee.
The MYP grades 6-10 will continue with their regular schedule. |

CIS ANNUAL GARAGE SALE
The CIS Annual Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 19th, from 7am-3pm at the Clark-Slakey home. The address is 519 Bledsoe Rd and is located just behind Dan's Boots on 4th Street.
We will need help setting up and pricing all week beginning Monday, 14th and continuing through Friday, 18th. I would also like to have a couple of volunteers to make signs; Bill Slakey will put them out on the day of the sale. I also need as many tables and racks as possible. I have one canopy but we wouldn't mind more, especially if it's a hot day!
Please contact Heather Clark at clarkslakey@comcast.net if you need to schedule a drop-off of garage sale items. We can also be contacted at (Heather) 301-2977, (Bill) 771-3121 and (Tammy) 303-587-2039.
Since we don't have much of a budget for this event, it would be great if we could try to provide meals for the garage sale volunteers on the day of the sale. There will be a sign-up area for that, too.
Garage sale donations can be brought to the house Mon-Fri between 5:30pm and 8:00pm and this Sunday from 1-6pm.
This is a great time to volunteer and get to know other families in the CIS Community! Thanks for your support! Please go to signupgenius to sign up to do your part.
