Dear CIS Families,

While the 2012-2013 school year still seems distant, this year's lottery is quickly approaching.  It is very important to assess student information now regarding future enrollment plans.  As many of you know, CIS observes a sibling legacy preference which allows for siblings of currently enrolled students to be accepted without participating in a lottery when spaces are available. (If there are no spaces available in the appropriate grade level, siblings are added to a wait list for a separate lottery drawing.)

Please look for and fill out the form that will come home with your child on Monday and let us know whether your child and any siblings will be joining us for the 2012-2013 school year.

This form is due no later than December 9, 2011.  We want to be certain that seats are reserved for your returning student(s) and not offered as Lottery openings.  Spaces can only be reserved for those students who have this form on file.

Thank you.

Hot Lunch Orders
If you will be ordering hot lunch for December, please turn in your calendar order form (one per child) and your payment ASAP!

Checks are to be made payable to Aaron's Sandwich Time.  Meals are $3.00 for salad bar, hot main dish and milk or water. Box salads with egg and/or chicken are available for the same price.  If you would like to purchase a salad bar only option the cost is $2.00 per day.

Please include your child's name, grade and the amount of payment included on each child's order form.  Thank you!

Income Survey
Please return the orange income information form that your child brought home earlier this month. This will help us assess if we can implement a free/reduced lunch program at CIS. The information that you provide will be confidential and will only be reviewed by APS officials in the Student Nutrition Dept. and the Research Development Dept. The data from the forms will be accumulated and our school will be provided with an overview of our school's eligibility.

This data is also useful in various grant applications filled out by CIS staff where this type of information is requested in order to complete and submit requests for funds.
