Dear CIS Families:

I hope all of you had an opportunity to visit with your child's teacher for parent-teacher conferences.  Communication with your child's teacher is important in order to ensure your child is learning at our school.  If you did not have an opportunity to visit with your child's teacher, please email or call your child's teacher to schedule an appointment.

A couple of reminders:

1.  There is no school today, Monday, October 10th and Tuesday, October 11th. School will resume after the 4-day weekend on Wednesday, October 12th. Wednesday will be a long day, not a short day.

2. Please be mindful that students must be supervised at all times at our school.  Students can be dropped-off only 15 minutes early before the start of their school day. Students dropped-off earlier must attend the Before-care program.  The only exception to this rule is for students with older siblings attending MYP.  These students may arrive earlier with their siblings and report to the library to be supervised by Ms. Nancy Light.

Students must also be picked-up on time after school or after their school activity.  There is no one to supervise students after school if they are not in after care, tutoring, or a club.  Most of the staff is usually involved in other activities and your child will be unsupervised if you do not pick them up on time.  Our club sponsors are volunteers and we can't expect them to stay past their designated club time.

Thank you for your understanding of this concern.  Your child's safety is of the utmost importance to us.

Please read our newsletter to gather information on the new clubs that are starting and about International Day on October 29 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.

I hope you have had a restful weekend.

A big Thank You to Kevin Kinane and Music in Schools, a program sponsored by the Corrales Cultural Arts Council, which made Kevin Kinane's Friday performance at CIS possible!  Kevin is known as the "recycle man," who collects discarded items to create percussion instruments that students use to create rhythms individually and in groups. It was an amazing experience for all!
