This is an essential "mandatory" meeting for all parents. Our International Baccalaureate (IB) authorization visit is October 28th!
The IB Parent Academy is designed for parents to learn about the IB goals and objectives of CIS and be able to express an understanding of the strategies and curriculum their children are experiencing in their classrooms.
Even if you have attended an IB Parent Academy in previous years, you need to attend. The content of this IB Parent Academy is completely different. Our meeting will begin with a brief overview of the IB philosophy and goals, followed by dismissal to your child's classroom where your child's teacher will present on their IB units, year-long plan, and strategies used in their classroom.
Parents of students in the Middle Years Program (6th - 10th grades) will follow their students' schedule to experience the exciting learning opportunities their students encounter at CIS.
ARE STUDENTS ABLE TO ATTEND? Students are welcome to attend but childcare is recommended if possible. Our space is limited in our classrooms and the sessions are intended for adults.
PARENT ATTENDANCE COMPETITION: MOVIE AND POPCORN The class that has the most parents attend will receive a field trip for a movie (of the teacher's choosing) at Century Rio 24 theater.
