Hello CIS families!
We hope you are enjoying the summer vacation and the extra time with family. July is a hopping month for CIS, with a parade and a chance for you to help us get musical instruments! Please read below for a quick update on what's going on this month!

Independence Day
Please join CIS in the Village of Corrales' 4th of July parade! Those riding in the CIS float will meet at 9 am at Corrales Elementary on Target Road, and those marching/walking will meet at Rancho Corrales parking lot. Please don your CIS shirt, grab your waterblaster and join us!
Float decorating will be at La Entrada park (northwest corner of Corrales and La Entrada roads) , tonight at 5pm! Thank you to Pete Lukes for providing the vehicle and the awesome idea.
No matter what your plans, we hope that you have a safe and joyous Independence Day! Please remember Governor Martinez has stated, of personal fireworks use, that "the potential consequences are simply too severe and the patriotic thing to do this 4th of July is to attend a public fireworks display, or celebrate the 4th fireworks free."

Musical Instruments for CIS!!
We have been extremely fortunate to secure a large inventory of musical instruments for CIS!!! These instruments need to be picked up from Santa Fe (loaded into a U-Haul) and then unloaded at CIS. We need parent volunteers willing to drive (or carpool?) to Santa Fe to help load up and then be at CIS to help unload all of the instruments. Who can help? Tuesday, at 1pm in Santa Fe.
The store is located in the Trader Joe's Shopping center on the corner of St. Francis and Cordova. 508 W. Cordova. The store is located toward the far end, a few doors down from Santa Fe Baking Company.
Anyone interested in carpooling should post on the CIS Facebook page.

Summer Language Academy for Kindergarteners
The summer Spanish Language Academy for the incoming kindergarten class 2011-2012 will be in the Kinder classroom at CIS.
Class will start July 18th and run from 8:30 am to 12:30pm, Monday to Thursday. Our last day will be August 4th.
It is greatly encouraged that all incoming Kinder children attend as many days as possible--this is a fun time but also an important introduction to our everyday school day.
