·         VOLUNTEERS PLEASE: JogAThon is still in need of volunteers Please consider volunteering Wednesday morning, contact Jessica Rice (jpuma@comcast.net)  if you can volunteer. Our 1st graders have volunteered to help clean up afterwards.

STUDENTS MAY DRESS IN APPROPRIATE CLOTHING FOR RUNNING ON WEDNESDAY.

-NO short-SHORTS.  Use the tips of your fingers to measure the appropriate length of the shorts.

-NO tank tops or spaghetti strap shirts

·         CIS Garage Sale is next Saturday. Please remember to go by the Spatz' home and buy some great stuff to help out CIS!  The address is 200 Cielo Azul. You can also make arrangements to drop your items at the house by emailing tamspatz@gmail.com . The Garage Sale is also in need of volunteers. Please consider donating your time to this CIS activity.

HELP US RECRUIT!

CIS is ready for 10th graders! If you know a child who will be in 10th grade next school year, please encourage their family to consider CIS enrollment. We offer a smaller social setting with a highly challenging curriculum. This is perfect for many young adolescents looking for a different high school experience. CIS will add 9th & 10th grades next year.

GARAGE SALE

The CIS 4th Annual Garage Sale is fast approaching!

This year's sale will be held at the home of Bruce and Tammy Spatz in Corrales on May 20-21.

Spring Cleaning is the perfect time to find unused items to donate.

If you have items ready that you would like us to store until the sale, please contact Carrie Dabau at cdabau@q.com or 480-620-2056.

In May, we will accept drop-offs in Corrales and arrange some pick-up days at the school.  We would greatly appreciate any pricing that you can do ahead of time...this is a big job!

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Tammy Spatz at tamspatz@gmail.com or 508-2564.  We need help with pricing, advertising/signs, food and working the sale.

All items left after the sale will be donated to Clothes Helping Kids. If you have tables or clothing racks to lend, please let us know!

Last year's sale brought in $2150 with only a couple dozen families participating.

IF EVERY FAMILY WERE TO DONATE JUST ONE BAG OR BOX OF ITEMS, WE'D HAVE A HUGE SALE!!

Thank you in advance for your help!

"We are in desperate need of folding tables, hanging racks, and hangers for the garage sale.  We could also use some portable shade canopies.  You can drop them off in Corrales or arrange to have them picked up at the school.  Please label the racks,  canopies and tables with your name and number.  Contact tamspatz@gmail.com."

NEWS

SNOW DAYS MAKE-UP

Students in grades K-6th  will not need to make up snow days since they attend one-hour of school more than required by the New Mexico Public Education Department(NMPED).  Students in K-6th grade are required to attend 5 1/2 hours of school and our students attend school for 6 1/2 hours (not counting 30 minutes for lunch).  As a result, the last day of school for students in grades K-6th will be May 27th.

This is not the case for students in grades 7th - 8th grade.   Students in 7th - 8th grade are required by the NMPED to attend 6 hours of school.  Our students attend 6 1/2 hours (not counting 30 minutes for lunch). Therefore, students in 7th -8th grade will need to make up only 14 hours of school.   Our middle school students will make up these 14 hours on May 31 and June 1st.   Ms. Carrillo and Mr. Johnson will provide further information to the middle school parents and their students.
