PARENT IB NIGHT!

IB Parent Academy is designed to help parents develop a common understanding of the International Baccalaureate Program.  THINK GREEN!!!

Hello Parents,

As you know, CIS students are committed to Green.

Go Green on October 12th and the 19th for $5.00 each day.
I would like to extend 2 Green days to you and your family. Use the bus once or twice in October.  It will benefit you in so many ways and possibly encourage you to use the bus instead of driving to and from school.

The immediate benefits for you are:
·         the Bus pick-up and drops offs are in convenient locations,
         (Sunflower market, Winterhaven, and Westside)
·         you will not have to deal with traffic on the way to and from CIS
·         you will not have to deal with the congestion and long lines at CIS
·         your child will be safe and have a great time on the bus with their friends
·         and you participated in Think Green.

Please check out the Green benefits for participating. The following is a calculation by one of our parents for 17 families. Please look at it and consider using the bus instead of driving in for one day or start using the bus. J The more families that are involved in the bus the cost of the bus is lower and we will all see the money, time, and gas saved.

Whichever day you choose, please pay the bus driver $5.00.

Any questions please let me know.

Thank you

Green and economics sometimes go hand in hand.

The bottom table "Total" shows that cumulative road miles avoided by 17 families using the bus from Sunflower is 9,996 miles (sparing additional road congestion) and saving at least 624 gallons of gasoline per month (assuming an average stop and go fuel economy of 16 mpg).
