Dear CIS Families:
I hope you are making plans to attend International Day on September 24th. I guarantee that it will be FUN for the whole family! All our students (K-8) have been working with the Music, Art, and P.E. teachers in preparing for a performance. Our middle school students will also be helping with the international games as part of their service learning responsibilities.
A couple of things to keep in mind for this day. Our front parking lot will be used for performances so it will not be available for parking. All events begin at 3:30. Food will be sold, so plan on having dinner at CIS on Friday.
Have a Terrific Weekend.
Respectfully
Dr. Elsy Fierro Diaz
Head Administrator
The learner profile for this month is INQUIRER.
Students who are INQUIRERS are curious about the world. They can conduct research independently. They love learning and discovering new things and will carry this love of learning with them throughout life. How can parents help to develop students who are Inquirers at home?
· Encourage areas of your child's interest by visiting the library to borrow books that explore these topics.
·Develop an understanding of the Internet. Work with your son or daughter when the Internet is being used and try to instill the understanding that some Internet sites are not reputable.
·Model being an inquirer. Admit when you don't know the answer to a problem or a question and seek out answers in front of your child.

Student Safety
Please keep in mind some of these safety precautions to keep our students safe.
- Students cannot be picked up after 3:20 from their classrooms.
- All students will be dismissed at 3:30 from the pick-up/drop-off area (Midway Blvd. entrance).
- Since we have 70 more students this school year, some of you may choose to park on Midway Blvd. and walk to get your children from the pick-up area.
- CROSS WALK. Please allow us to help you cross the parking lot. We have too many cars exiting plus the bus.
- Please be aware that there is a STOP sign in the parking lot to allow pedestrians to cross.
- Students not picked up by 3:40 will be taken to the Aftercare Program by their teacher. There is a charge for Aftercare service.
We ask that you abide by these safety precautions. Remember, your children are watching you and learning from your actions. |
