Crossroads for Kids
Summer 2010

Greetings!

Summer is in full swing and there is so much happening at Crossroads for Kids!

First and foremost, don't miss seeing Crossroads and Camp Wing on Chronicle next Monday, August 16th at 7:30 on Channel 5! Having a TV crew at Camp Wing was exciting -  but the most exciting part is knowing that Chronicle will help us tell more people about our work and our incredible kids.

In addition to serving over 1000 kids in our camp programs at Camp Wing, Camp Mitton and Camp Lapham, we have had 55 teens travel to Wyoming on a wilderness trek and 53 teens participate in our Crossroads Road to College Tour. The college tour closing ceremony at Harvard was an emotional day for all involved and I hope you will feel as proud as I did when I watched the reflection video the teens made to share their experience.  Because you make this work possible, the pride is yours to share.

I would love to show our work in action - come visit camp before the summer is over! You are welcome anytime.

Warm Regards,

This summer, Crossroads took 53 teens on a 7-Day College Tour around New England, that ended at Harvard University where the closing ceremony was held.

The Teens created this incredible video to share the impact of this trip. We hope you enjoy seeing what you make possible. Get your tissues ready!

Tatiana in Costa RicaTatiana- Hello From Costa Rica!!
This summer I am away from my Crossroads family working in Costa Rica at a summer camp for children living in poverty.  It has been so exciting to go on this new adventure and experience a new summer camp, practice the Spanish I've studied in school, and work with kids who need extra love, support, and patience.  Needless to say, Crossroads has prepared me both for the known and the unknown so I knew I could do this. After nine years with Crossroads, I am sad not to be with them this summer but, I was ready to jump into deep waters. After all, Crossroads has given me the tools to swim and not sink.

Keep an eye out for more updates on the incredible things Tatiana has going on in future newsletters and at www.crossroads4kids.org/meettatiana
