Announcing support of heterogeneous CAD assembly conversions
Datakit released the CATIA to JT translator that will handle assemblies that nests CatiaV6 (.3DXML) , CatiaV5, CatiaV4 and CGR (Catia Graphics Representation) parts and assemblies. This supports CATIA versions up to CatiaV6 R2012 and CatiaV5 R21. CrossManager 2012 will allow bidirectional JT to CatiaV5 translations as well.
Datakit is also releasing a PLM XML assembly reader, that can refer to various CAD formats. All input data (assemblies and parts) can be converted seamlessly and automatically to available CrossManager output formats (e.g. IGES, VRML, Catia5). Click here for a complete list.
JT and PLM XML are registered trademarks of Siemens PLM Software.

Reliable spreadsheets made easy
 | | Converting in Motion |
EASA allows you to use an existing spreadsheet to define a web based application, eliminating the need to distribute key spreadsheets to end-users and preventing unauthorized changes and incorrect usage. Built-in version control ensures users can only access the correct version - it is no longer possible for users to accidentally use an out of date version. Optionally, you can also link your master spreadsheet to databases or other existing software.

Don't miss the CAE Indexer Webinar
Tuesday 28 February The growing use of simulation tools in product design offers remarkable benefits, but at the same time, often leaves rapidly growing volumes of CAE data unmanaged. One challenge for product development teams is making this valuable data more useful for design and business processes in an effective and efficient manner. Some aspects of this challenge include: - Making CAE data smarter through automatic extraction of meta-data
- Efficiently extracting key data as required and appropriate for report generation
- Supporting enhanced data archival strategies
- Enabling sharing of results data and collaboration for better design decision making, peer, management and customer reviews
This webinar will summarize these issues and illustrate how the PHX CAE Indexer available with PHX AnalysisLibrary provides an effective and efficient approach to addressing the challenge of efficiently making CAE data more useful in design and business processes. Click here for registration. Phoenix Expands in France Phoenix Integration, a leading provider of software for engineering automation, integration, and design optimization, announced that it has formally expanded its presence in Europe to include a new office in Toulouse, France.

C.A.V.E Integrated CADFEM has developed a Compression and Visualization Engine (C.A.V.E.), as a VCollab integrated ANSYS Workbench application. C.A.V.E. gives customers a seamless workflow from solving to the output of significantly compressed and portable result files. C.A.V.E. offers multiple benefits to ANSYS users and product design teams:
- Efficient sharing of simulation results with peers, collaborators, customers.
- Ability to annotate key results and produce fly-through, 3D interactive movies.
- Powerful and easy-to-use VCollab viewers for technical and non-technical users.
- Fast integration with simulation data management systems such as ANSYS EKM.
- Easy use of CAX files to generate interactive, 3D-reports in MS Office.
