Enrollment Reaches 70 Percent. Even Higher in Junior Camp!
Overall camp enrollment has reached 70 percent. The highest that it has been in years this early. Junior Camp is already filled to 95 percent of capacity. Each bunk in Junior Camp has only 2 openings. A few bunks have only 1opening and 6B had all of their campers return. This is something we have not seen for some time now. If you know of anyone with younger campers please tell them check out Tall Pines in a hurry. |

The Yearbooks are Coming! The Yearbooks are Coming!
Aunt Barb has put the finishing touches on this year's edition. They went off to the printer in early December and should be done by mid to late December and mailed off to you by the end of the month. There's nothing like reliving the memories and warmth of summer in the middle of the winter. Thanks to the PrimakFamily for printing the yearbook again this year. |
What's New fo r 2011
This fall we had the two larger pools completely resurfaced before we shut them down for the winter. Rather than resurface them with plaster which has a rough, sandpaper like texture, we upgraded to a PebbleFina brand pool finish. The finish is smooth and gives the pool water a blue hue. It will last the next 15+ years. This winter Uncle Mike Spano, our Facility Director, will begin construction on another pavilion to cover our second largest gaga court. The one covered court we have now is coveted by all campers. They all love playing gaga in the shade. It also gives us another great activity area for rainy days. Speaking of shade, this winter we will be harvesting 40 trees from our tree farm and planting them on our campus. We plan to surround our Junior Camp field, the Tapu-Ae field, and the pathway to our nature building. More on Tapu-Ae in our next newsletter. It is another game like gaga, ghost, and crossfire that you've never heard of before but the kids love playing it. |
