Welcome to Huckleberry Resources

Greetings!

Do you think my photo on the right is dorky? You know, I might send out an email survey just to ask that question!

This is the first issue of the Huckleberry email newsletter and I hope you find it valuable! I will try to make it entertaining too! Your comments and questions are always appreciated and please pass it along to family and friends. Thank you for your support!

Google Search Tips
I came across some information on searching in google that you might find helpful. These few little items can make your searches more effective and efficient.
  • Use quotes and phrases like "huckleberry resources" or "business coaching"
  • Add specific words with a + to require both words in a result. For example: huckleberry+resources
  • Subtract specific words with a - to eliminate certain things from your results like: business consulting -accounting
  • Put a + before your keyword to only look for that keyword and not other synonyms. So if you search for: car you will also get auto and vehicle, but if you search for +car you will only get responses with the word car.
  • If you want to find something on just one website you can search as follows: site:huckleberry resources blog

Developing Creativity I find that creativity is like a muscle. The more you practice and exercise that muscle, the more inspired and creative you become. So how do you practice? Here are some ideas:
  • Keep a daily journal or just write a page a day
  • Use a free-flowing writing style, just put down whatever you can think of
  • If you are more art inspired, take time to draw/paint/sculpt everyday
  • Keep a sketch journal instead of a written journal
  • If you are more music inspired, play, sing or create music every day
You don't have to dedicate an hour to this exercise, maybe just start with 5 minutes of writing and see where that takes you. You can use these techniques just before starting a project as well. Take 5 or 10 minutes and choose your method above, then dive in to your homework, household project or the bookkeeping you have been putting off.

The point is, do something every day that will keep you stimulated, inspired and exercising that muscle!
