a little art, a little craft ...

Hi there, creative type!

I am in the mood for FLOWER POWER  this month...I think I'm in denial that the end of summer is getting close...where did it go??

I hope you enjoy these flower-themed projects!

Daisy cluster greeting card

1. Lay the 6" daisy cluster template down on top of cardstock
2. Gently spritz over the top with desired spray mist ink
3. Carefully remove template and let cardstock dry
4. Trim the cardstock to desired size; rim the edge with a marker in a  coordinating color
5. Fill in some of the flower petals with a dimensional gloss medium (I like Inkssentials by Ranger)
6. Embellish with coordinating ribbon and brads, adhere to a folded base card

Paint striping and scraping

Click here for a quick video tutorial on how to apply paints and medium with a sponge brush to get a multi-colored striped background, then scrape a linear pattern into the paint. It's super easy and it makes such a pretty background paper for cards and ATCs!

Tapped fabric squares

I can't wait to make a bunch more of these squares in different colors and patterns to sew together into a quilt. I love how crisp and bright my painted template turned out on plain yellow cotton.

tapped fabric

Painting on fabric is super fun, but painting on TAP® Transfer Artist Paper first, then transferring the painted image to fabric gives a whole different look. I picked up yellow and orange acrylic paints together on a cosmetic sponge, then dabbed color into a flower template, which I had taped to a sheet of TAP. After it dried, I trimmed the painted area of the TAP to a 6" square and pressed it to my fabric. Gorgeous - and washable too!
Hope you enjoyed that!
Now go and create a little something, would ya?  :-)
